might be an idea to allow anybody from the forums to be able to bid on the auctions not just gold / platinum members - althou only allowing the platinum members to add names to the auction - this is why there doesnt seem to be many buyers around the live auctions

just an idea :)

Good point, Manu! :)
It's been brought up before ... and I think one of the major drawbacks of a PAID site is exactly that, less eyeballs. IMHO, there was more of an emphasis on recouping costs in instituting the membership fee, than a viable long-term strategy.
Don't get me wrong, I've more than made up for my fee ... but I think you make a good pint, the (lesser) amount of potential buyers seeing the Live auction domains has had a devastating affect! Plus the "novelty factor" (and traffic) of the site is gone, in general ... IMHO.
Thanks.

I didn't even know I was on the list until this thread... nobody told me anything at all!

Anyway, I'll have to decline acting in some official "committee member" capacity I'm afraid due to time pressures.

Pretty soon we'll be able to form a new committee of non-committee members. :D

Allowing non-members to bid on the auctions? I'd rather use eBay, where I can block, ban, kick and manage those that bid on my auctions.

For the love of Pete, don't add non-paying members to the list of bidders!
