Hi, the number increased but as we now it`s and up and down due to some Registrars testing large amount of them but we`re having new lower minimuns and lower maximuns every month.

At the moment it`s:

Well....I have made a big bet.

I missed the boat on 3letter .com/.net/.info/.us etc. I could have registered 1000s of LLL but I thought they will never be in demand.

Well I don't want to miss the boat on LLLL.Com domains.

I got over 1400 LLLL .COM domains.

The supply will end in few months at the current rate of registration.

Lets see how it all plays out.

Thanks.

It's all hype, designed to push up domain reg's

I have a few LLLL already, but will not be regging any more.. and those regging hundreds now because of the hype are going to lose cash... The good ones are already gone.

LLLL is not LLL

The main aftermarket for LLLL would be orgs with 4 letter acronyms... don't you think if they wanted the 4 letter acronym domain they would already have it before you??

Don't waste your hard earned cash on crappy LLLL names..

I thought exactly the same when others were registering LLL domains.

Anyhow, we will see.

Almost 10,000 LLLL regsitered in just last 7 days or so.....

And most probably due to the hype being generated on this forum alone..

LLLL will not be available for long etc etc, so folks jump on the bandwagon and try to make some cash by regging loads of them... Most of them are unpronouncable, and have no relevance to anything..
I hope I'm wrong, and you make a killing.. But I'm quite confident we will see them all dropping again in a year or 2. Why would you want to throw cash at domains like qyzw.com etc???? Just baffles me

I agree talkhost. Lots of speculation going on. We have lots of them too, but they all have strong acronym meanings or can be construed to be a word like (example) zeez.com

^^ I don't agree.
Even it is hype, even the price is raised up by only domainers, it can still make you money.
I would also believe a random LLLL.com has a better application than random LLL.us. First it is a dot com, and second anyone on the earth can reg them. Based on your reasoning, crappy LLL.us is all about hype too and should not make you any money but you are already wrong. Within one year, random LLL.us has raised its price from regfee to $100. So what really make LLLL.com be any different. The price might be lower due to the larger pool of them but it still will become valuable after all are taken up. But for now just try to pick the better combinations over the crappiest then you should be safe.

There was a time when baseball, hockey and football trading cards were over-speculated and even the no-name players were selling like todays LLLL.com's. Well that didn't last and just like LLLL's anyone could buy them. They are now all but worthless, and the only ones worth anything are the true gems - the known star players.

Even if the price is pushed up solely by domainers.... how many domainers do you know that will pay 4 x reg fee for a generic LLLL with no meaning?

Lucky if you can sell 1 in 100 for 4 x reg fee even to fellow speculative domainers...

What do you do with the other 99 out of 100 that you hold???? You either keep them and pay the huge renewal costs hoping to flog them for 40 bucks, or you cut your losses and drop them all.... I know what I would do...

Simple, as long as there's a consensus on the minimal prices for LLLL.com as how it works for all the LLL.tlds, there are alway investors who believe in it would like to pay my portfolio for around that price +/-. It is just about when you think it is the right time to sell.
I did this for my LLL.us porfolio. I cannot regret more that I sold it too early.

We are not talking about LLL though, we are talking about LLLL now. And there is no consensus regarding pricing (except the reg fee for the crappy ones that are left)

There are a lot more LLLL than LLL so holding on to the ones that no-one else wants for years on end, will more than likely cost you more than the eventual consensus that may or may not occur regarding the price of a LLLL

I'm not going to post any more on this subject as I can see there is support and ridicule in equal measure..

Just don't expect it to be the cash cow that LLL has become... If you reg hundreds you WILL lose money unless they are decent, pronouncable names.

Go ahead and fill your boots... reg the thousands of useless names that are still available... bookmark this thread and come back in 1 or 2 years and tell me you made it rich, and did not drop most of them, and I will quite happily eat my left ball if I got it wrong....

I have already sold a LLLL doman about a year ago, before all this hype... vuds.com I sold it via this forum for 2 or 3 hundred bucks... but it still did not ignite my interest in LLLL.. and my interest is still not ignited....

Lots of people don't mind paying 4 x reg fee for random LLLL. Look at tdnam and see random names bid up to $20/30. And at clubdrop/snapname/pool, people are paying even more.

4 letter pronounceable by itelf can be easily used for web sites. And 4 letter as acronym, though not as easy as 3 letter, is still much better choice than 3 character. VOIP/IPTV/WIFI are just a few well known.

On the traffic side, 4 letter domain gets about 1/3 view per day on average. Tough not a big number, a very simple adsense site can generate $1 per domain per year. With better site deisgn and increasing traffic, 4 letter domain might be able to pay for themselve some day. That is why four or five registrars are keep sampling 4 letter domain and sometimes upto 20K domains are taken.

I think llll.com price are supressed only because there are avaialbe for registration. Once gone, watch out! Even at 1/50 of of LLL.com, it can pay for more than a couple of years's registration fee.

Well I respect your opinion but you didn't convince me at all.
So what really is different for LLLL.com compared to LLL.us? I think the only negative part in the comparison for LLLL.com is it has a larger pool which will make it vanishing later and the price increase slower. But it cannot go anywhere beyond the rule of supply and demand.
And you are also wrong assuming how I invest in LLLL.com. The best time for massive buyout is at the very last status which will ensure a return before they expire one year later. At that time you can choose to sit on it or sell cheap. For small players the best way is to pick up the less crappy ones occasionally. Since all the premiums are already gone, there's no need to enter in haste at the present.

So what really is different for LLLL.com compared to LLL.us?
When it comes to "bad" 3-letter .us there is not much difference as far as speculator value. Neither has much end user value or demand.

I think the only negative part in the comparison for LLLL.com is it has a larger pool which will make it vanishing later and the price increase slower. But it cannot go anywhere beyond the rule of supply and demand.
When thousands and thousands of 4-letter .com's with less desirable letters come up for renewal next year I guess we'll see what happens to supply.

Just my opinion
