This is a good point. Even without Iraq, terrorist activities will cost us hundreds of billions of dollars in defensive measures. That kind of expense could cripple an economy and a nation over time. Pardon me if I don't think we should pay it for generations just to protect political correctness and personal privacy.

It could be argued that Iraq was a good idea just to stir the pot and get this stuff out in the open. Several years of offensive activity will be much cheaper and less deadly than several generations of defensive actions. I think that is a big difference between Liberals and conservatives. Liberals would rather pay an increasingly heavy toll for generations, and stay on the defensive. Conservatives prefer to go on the offensive and pay the heavy price now. The lessons of Hitler and WWII should be considered.

All religions are myths, created to make a few people rich and powerful while the majority of people stay poor but pay to keep the rich getting richer. Most religions demand parents have as many children as possible by prohibiting birth control, and demand that all children be brainwashed from a young age to follow the same religion so the income keeps flowing. 'God' is always the scary figure who will torture you for eternity in case you start asking logiccal questions when the brainwashing wears off. In this case, Osama didn't want money, he wanted power and ego, so made up a new myth that was a twist of the Muslim one he had already been brainwashed with. Since it was a new 'startup' and he didn't want to wait a couple of centuries to grow the business (or do an IPO), he had to do something spectacular... so of like Godaddy running sexy superbowl ads, just to get noticed. Now he's got to keep up the 'action', or he loses power (and self esteem), as do those lower on the power rung. He's counting on Americans being dumb enough to allow his $hit to go on since any real countermeasure would not be politically correct. This will continue till the US wises up, or the US spends more in the politically correct war than it has in the bank for a generation to come. Ooops, we're already at that point.
