If I needed to hire an attorney for a domain name case, John is the first guy I would contact, and there are some other great lawyers on this forum. All you have to do is read his cases. Glad that you have had an opportunity to vent some steam, Lew. Keep on John's good side, and he might be willing to take your case, when you have a legitimate case to pursue.

Lew, here is one you will like: I used to own wwwcocacola.com. I knew that I might hear from their lawyers. It was actually a pretty nice letter. I handed over the name right away, rather than forcing them to take it to the next level. Coke left the nameservers pointing to my site. So, Coke now pays the annual registration fee, and I still get the traffic.:D

And how does posting the results of the decision mean I wasn't paying attention?

Disney is one of the most active corporations in defending their TM. They have to be, they are so big, that marks could easily fall into common use. "Mickey Mouse" to describe a quick or shoddy fix my already be in that category.

A local watering hole called "Mickey's Mouse Trap" got a C&D from Disney lawyers. They didn't like the use of "Mickey's Mouse" together like that. The owner (Mickey) spent a small amount on holding onto his name, but couldn't defend against the Disney people. A new name was chosen (The MouseTrap) and a new sign were purchased. End of story.

I said that it was futile to fight them - not that I believed I was wrong - although I am not completely convinced I am right so maybe a few more negative posts from my peers may sway me.

Can anyone else help out here?

 you're stupid

Come on Lew.. take a deep breath.. then type these words..

"I am Lew..I registered DisneyMovies.com because I am a cybersquatter"

before God and DNF admit your sin .. :D

I am Lew - I am a cybersquatter.....

Forgive me lord for I have sinned....

I should be made Saddams personal body guard for my actions.

This forum should charge for all the services it has provided me:

I have taken the first step to being cybersober....

I have confessed my sins....

I can now "move on"...

I now have a clean slate - I feel GREAT!
