Hi,

I am negotiating a couple of sales with them, but not happy with the attitude.

Has any one negotiated with them and what has been the experience?

I regularly deal with SEDO and Buydomains and find them accomodative, rational and negotiable, unlike Marchex which as it is price the name way to high and then wont rationalise.

Any feedback/tips appreciated

Regards

Enduser prices, horrible ranges given, good luck.

For example, say you picked up a piece of dog poo while out walking one day and decided to offer it for sale. What do you think it's value is, Marchex thinks poo is worth $50k-$XXX,XXX.

Good luck. Notorious for high prices and no movement. They don't need your money. If you want the name, you will have to pay for it.

From my experience, Marchex could care less if they ever sold any of their/its portfolio. But I do seem to remember them dumping some names a couple of years ago over at Afternic and mistakingly pricing LLL(.)com's at like $75 or $750

well i finally bought a name from them ...end user price but have to say they were professional and courteous.

I guess once you get over a certain threshold they then oblige just like SEDO and buy domains.

I have SOLD a bunch of .NETs to them. Quick, fast transaction. No issues to report. Pleasant experience. Never BOUGHT anything from them though. Best of luck.

Where does a person go to sell domains to Marchex? Their home page, Marchex.com, doesn't give any clues that I could see. Would you say their prices are fair? The biggest drawback about the domain industry, as far as I'm concerned, is the difficulty of achieving cash liquidity when an expensive opportunity arises. So knowing a few big buyers is always handy as a fallback option.

Any thoughts about this in general--not just selling to Marchex?
