IMO, for most domainers the best two extensions are most always going to be far and away dot-com and dot-org - with dot-net said to be the worst by Domain King and others.
There will sometimes be certain exceptions involving country codes, perhaps for people who live in nations who already have a popular country code such as Germany and its dot-de for example.
