if you want to support terrorism I will make sure you get smacked real hard.

Do you notice the similarity of the above and what I was saying in the original thread? How can there possibly be simularities in the original question and you pointing to one member and one statement? If you state
We could start by not putting pro American racist posts.
that can equally be interpreted as the complete opposite...pro American racists vs. anti-American racists.

ISSUE: It is highly inappropriate to post a person's statement in a thread as being the example to all. Find a similar post regarding anti-Americanism, anti-Islamic, etc. We are talking about fairness is equality and you want to single out one post? Makes no sense what so ever.

Disagree: The question was asked: So how do you think to improve the understanding of multi-cultural communication?
If you want a forum as you describe in the sentence above, you have to name and shame. You have to show the posters what is not acceptable if they do not know. You should be highlighting more posts of the same nature. Find me an anti American post and I will happily post the link to it on this thread and shame then as well. There is so much animosity in the world already we do not need it to overflow into this forum. Some need reminded of this.
The inappropriateness is having an issue with a statement and using that statement which may be totally out of character with your belief as a feature. If you were offended by such a statement it would be your choice to contact the mods and notify them, not to post it as an example.

Name and shame is not part of the game. It is for fraud and reporting suspect auctions and sales and scams and scammers. There are going to be spats and flame threads (affectionately referred to by some as "popcorn threads") on a daily basis. Every one is free to disagree. But for using one statement that you disagree with is not cool. You or the member that the comments were directed to could have easily reported this matter rather than make it an issue here.

As for anti-american posts...where were you a couple of weeks ago? Perhaps even today. I have not checked in on the thread by my mate the Pred on the Iranian crackdown on the dress code. I would imagine I can find something there that is hostile or can be construed as hostile.

You are free to disagree, obviously, but it is also a matter of interpretation of the original question: So how do you think to improve the understanding of multi-cultural communication?I took it to mean the literal translation of verbal and written communication. I often see members making fun of someone's inability to spell English words correctly or proper sentence structure, especially from the Asian and Arabic members. This is deplorable.

Like I said, they are trying their best to communicate in our language and I see no attempt by English speaking people to communicate in Chinese or Arabic. We can talk all we want about English being the common thread but it sure as hell ain't common if we exclude some. So that was my interp.

You took it a different route.

Why don't you answer my question scooter?

Is your eyesite failing you? in case it is, below is my previous post and I am awaiting your reply to my question before I answer yours.

There you go again.....
Pakis, Pakis, Pakis... You just can't help it, can you? You should be ashamed of yourself.

To all persons of Pakistani origin on this forum, I sincerely apologise. We are not all the same as Acroplex.

Before I answer your question, please answer mine...
What does one in Florida call a person of black origin or hispanic?

You are an obvious idiot and a troll. Go back to the cave you crawled from. Don't try to patronize me again; if you dislike my persona, my user name or my avatar:

PUT ME ON A ****ING IGNORE.

I do not think it is only my belief. I believe that most visitors to this forum would feel uncomfortible with the term "Paki" just as they would "nigger"

If you were offended by such a statement it would be your choice to contact the mods and notify them, not to post it as an example
I posted within the thread for mods to examine. But the complete thread still stands

The comment was not directed at anyone in particular. It was directed to anyone that read the thread

This is a bonafied news article about Iranian dress code. It has no mention of "Paki's"

So how do you think to improve the understanding of multi-cultural communication? I took it to mean the literal translation of verbal and written communication.
I agree. But do you think it is acceptable to be writning about "Paki's"? I don't. Why don't we write about niggers while we're doing so!!!!

How in the hell can you say that?

Do you feel that way about being called a "Brit?"

I'm sure you don't. For one we never enslaved Pakistani's. That is why this term is in the bad category.

I'm not trying to patronise you in any way. If I wanted to I would have done it in the original thread.

So, getting back to what was asked originally from you....
What does one in Florida call a person of black origin or hispanic?

Please answer and I will be happy to answer your question.

Right. Now go back and actually read the post and the comments and see where this bonafied news article has escalated.

Hell, I hope no one is offended by me typing "Brit". I am not offended by "Yank". If I offended anyone, they know I'm full of shit anyways.

If that is your answer you miss the whole point of this thread.

Dot Com..
If everyone would just be mindful and respectful of the fact that there are different cultures, languages, and religions on this forum, problem solved.

.

No, I see according to you, that we have to be mindful of who can't say what and why based on other countries rules. Words are words nothing more. They are only bad depending on the context they are used in.

That is Dot Com's quote, not mine. But I 100% agree with it. If you do not, i suggest you PM him.

Now you are playing on words. Why dont you stick to your original statement that i think should be made sticky for all others to see as it is a beacon of light to all posters.

If everyone would just be mindful and respectful of the fact that there are different cultures, languages, and religions on this forum, problem solved.

You might mot be offended by yank, but if you had bothered to read the original thread there are others not of the same culture that were offended by "paki"

And had you read my statement; words are just words. It's the context in how they are used that makes them bad.
