Wow, I could finally speak out now! I'm flattered to be among the first to learn of the news when Nick shot me a PM early Thursday morning (5AM! we're both on the forum then) but had to keep my lips tight pending an official announcement.

Nick has been very helpful all along, both before and after I become a mod, and I have definitely learnt a lot from him. I really appreciate his treating me as a friend and actually came to my rescue when I needed him most.

And as I wrote in my reply PM: GOOD LUCK and let's keep in touch.

You didn't know until Thursday

Popper and I worked together as a team. You guys will miss him as a mod, but I will miss him as a partner.

Don't worry folks ... he's not leaving the domain name game altogether :)

Popper was one of the reasons DNForum was so successful...he should have been paid or been thrown a bone when the forum sold.

You will be missed Nick...

I couldn't have said it better myself. Although we have had out differences in opinions, he has been very professional.

Nick, you're a top notch guy. I hope you remain active in the forum and look forward to reading your article in the DN Journal.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

But isn't Nick around as a member? I am confused, I thought he left as a mod.

You are the heart and soul of DNF
Sure wish the new owner thought of DNFer's that way.
I can't imagine watching him run this place into the ground is easy for you or the other mods that have a grip.
Its not easy for some of us members either.

Nick, as said by others you are a great mod!
Even though overworked and underpaid you managed to keep cool.

Geesh! and gregr calls us cheapskates:laugh::cry:

I would be happy to throw a few bucks your way in appreciation for your time and commitment to DNF.
I would encourage other DNFer's to do the same.
paypal id: [email protected]

I know its not about the money, but please take it as an appreciative jesture.
If it bothers you to accept the money?
Maybe you could start a fund for the new owners window-ectomy?

Synopsis:
window-ectomy = Surgical procedure for installing a window in the lower abdominal area of the patient so when their head is up their ass they are able to see whats going on in the outside world.

Best of luck to you NamePopper!

Good Luck!

LOL

Good one NC :D

Although technically, an ectomy is a "cut and remove" so installation of a window would have to be a prosthetic job :D

Thanks everybody. I appreciate the kind words and the messages you sent. I also appreciate the money that a few of you sent to my PayPal address - but I have refunded it to you. I can't accept any money from other members. You guys don't owe me nothing. I WILL accept your continued friendship though! :)

Well, people - we'll be lucky if NamePopper will even hang out with us any more. He is now a big media star. Guess who is featured in the new Cover Story at Domain Name Journal? Check it out:
