some already do claim 24/7 support I thought?

Actually the biggest cost is the persons salary, and probably not even the heat, since they could most likely do support from a remote site (home etc).

Hey Scott - So Ottawa and not Barbados? What is up with that? I run into allot of Canadian companies in the islands. Many in the Caymans and Bermuda - I think the tax base works out for them?

5 Days DotBiz? I remember reading somewhere they were under some kind of deadline, but 5 days seems a bit long for an auth. code. Guess they do want them to work to hard on transfer away's?

Richard - Christ Church is hot in the winter as well. A work out is just walking down the street there. Think it misses some of the tradewinds? I heard Commercial Property Insurance rates raised over 35% this year in the Caribbean as the forecasters say that it is "time for the big storm this hurricane season"? Hope not!!!

As of this moment, I have not heard from them. Other than,
their automatic response acknowledging the emails.

ActNow, read carefully this automatic acknowledment emails you got! Few days ago i sent e-mail to NameScout support and i found out that you need to REPLY ON ACKNOWLEDGEMENT E-MAIL to activate this support ticket of theirs. Check on it.

Agree Richard - I think they are all suppose to post the auth. codes per NeuLevel or Icann rules....

My experience is more do NOT post the auth codes than do, especially the 2nd/3rd rate registrars who rarely have auth codes on the website or even an automated way to get then. Wish they all did.

Guess what?

They answered my two emails tuesday morning.

It must be the only time they work on emails!

And, both emails were answered by the same person. Eventhough,
one was sent to "service@" and the other was sent to "sales@".

Now, that raises another question about NameScout/Pool. And, the amount
of people that must work there.

If you go to Duke's article about Pool.
There is a picture of the entire staff at the very bottom of the article.
That must include all of their families, friends, neighbors and suppliers
(Office Depot staff, Janitorial services, etc.).

LOL, 2/3rd of them work in finance. Pool has probably one of the fastest kachink kachink billing reaction times in the world - they get the name, and 1 sec later, credit card goes swipe, swipe, swipe.

This is a follow up to my complaint with NameScout.

I put transfer requests in, from NameScout to Enom
his past wednesday, thursday and friday.

As of saturday night, I have not received any confirmations from
Enom that the names have been received by Enom.

I really didn't think they would act quickly.

And, I realize neither of the firms work on weekends.

I have a feeling that NameScout only works on
this once or twice a week.

Since, I got the authorization codes last tuesday.
Maybe, they will release them this tuesday??????

The first registrar that moves in that direction will start
gaining major marketshare.
NSI? They are 24/7/365...

But thinking of it, they already are #1 in market share :)

Yep Ottawa. However, for maximum tax advantages, I would encourage them to set up a partnership with me and move onto an Indian Reservation. There are some advantages, especially if, like me, you happen to be a Mohawk.

From what I hear there is huge advantages for establishing any business on an Indian Reservation. An old friend helped set up a casino long ago, for a tribe in Florida. Heard stories that it was a big hit with many breaks offered. Steve

I don't know the legal aspects of partnering on an Indian Reservation.

However, many U.S. companies have been moving their corporate stucture
offshore. And, the U.S. gov't is going to make a major issue out of it over
the next 2 years. Because, they will need the lost taxes.

It is not worth a small U.S. firm to do it. The tax savings would be used up
by the cost of tax lawyers.

Hey Richard - How's the response from NameScout coming as above? I just requested transfer auth codes on a bunch of domains there on Saturday and got a response the same day? Steve

Steve,

I got all of them last tuesday. On wednesday (thru friday) I have been transferring
them out.

I complained to Enom today. And, they said that they are waiting on NameScout.

I guess I am a small fry to NameScout since I only have a couple hundred names
with them.

I'm transferring them out 10 a day.

I wonder if I transferred them to Moniker, if it would move quicker?

Hi Richard - Size means nothing I do not think with these registrars - We have less than 500 names at NameScout, as well. I heard that these folks just wait out the 5 day rule from Icann and then the domains move. So I do not think what registrar you use for transfer in to matters all that much - Just glad to hear that it is working out OK for you finally. Best - Steve
