I just thought I should share this.

I placed a bid on a .ORG domain just 2 days ago.
The domain was to expire yesterday , March 5.

I was the high bidder.
somehow (I checked whois), it was still pending delete (ORGs are sometimes unpredictable). I checked whois 15 minutes ago, it says, NW got it.

Magically, the domain is no where in my control panel at NW!!!

This is getting ridiculous!
If there is anyone out there who wants more info, I will diclose *all* info relevant.

it showed 'closed' (as in, sorry, we did not get it), now, whois shows they got it, and it is just no where in my account.

what is going on?

This looks more and more like a 'mafia' job. I wonder If I should go in some sort of witness protection program or something

There simply is NO reliability.
Pool over charges, NW is too 'well connected' apparently, although they seem to loose $XXXX domains to hand regged domains at times...
like the one I got.

ridiculous.

Did you write to them?

Actually, they got a .info for me 3 days ago and it's still not pushed to my account...not to mention anyone can still bid on that name...so I wrote to them and they said there are some technical difficulties with their system and they couldn't verify all the names they captured...they said they will resolve it soon...so you better write to them before they give it to someone else.

I know how you feel. I was the highest bidder for a .ORG last july and they said someone manually registered it through dotster. What a joke! The domain was pretty good, and the snapback was taken. The bids were quite high at namewinner also.

Yeah, tell them you bid $XX, and thought you were the highest bidder...ask them what happened? If someone outbid you then, ask them what was the winning bid...

At NameWinner, sometimes you can bid for .info and .org names even after they caught the name.

I know I was the highest bidder because I had a high proxy bid, and it didn't go near it. :(

for which domain?

I *do not like* revealing prices, but, anyhow, I placed over $80 (well over that, so proxy XXX) for it, and now what???

I am sticking to pool, which of course is very *hysterical* (the latest 'in' domain apparently cause its prices seems to be sky rocketing)...

If I owned ridiculous.com, I know what I would have as its content.
Lets see how hysterical.com does...

I've seen namewinner bids take several days to show up in may account after having "won by namewinner customer" in the whois for while. I had a couple that went 30 days that way before I had to get support to get them into my account. I wouldn't worry too much unless you see someone else's name in the whois.

The NW script is pretty buggy. I have over 125 names listed on mine that are a combination of names I've won and names they never captured that had other bidders. I cannot remove them from the list, and they haven't responded to my request to do so. The script only seems to handle com/net correctly, as the stuck ones are mostly info/org.

I trust your judgement Mr. Webname.

I just wonder, had I not sent a link to this thread to NW, whould I have this domain?
seems like a very rapid reply, in any case, they deserver my apology.

Their software is still bugged :)
