Now if I could just get something out of them. It has been 5 days and support doesn't answer any inquiries.

Well, NW finally beat Pool for me on a domain today so that is a positive :).

Of course, it looks like I am in the same boat with some of the other posters in this thread since the name is not with Dotster. I wonder how long it will take to get the login info.

>>Well that's nice. So if and when NW ever gives me login information for the domain they got there for me, I guess I will have to learn Korean to change the nameservers!

At least they are kind enough to approve transfer requests (at least mine). I had 2 names transferred out from RGNames a while ago. No problems...

Duke, I sent a couple emails to NW earlier today. But, no response.

There is no reason that customer service takes days to answer inquiries. Or, did all of their help go back to school for the year? (high school or college.)

First I would have to have the domain put in my name so I would receive the email to approve the transfer request (and of course I would have to wait 60 days to move it as well + pay another registration fee). All I really want to do is login to access the domain I paid for last week and change the nameservers. It does appear that this new system has caused so much chaos customer service cannot answer all of the mail they are getting. Not a pretty picture.

We have yet to recieve the details on 15 names since they switched to this new system Duke - They returned our emails and said they are working on it though. Guess we all wait. Ken at least you can see it in the whois now - that is a good sign. We have two at the Korean site as well Kvinsencius and still can not figure out the name servers and plan to wait till transfer out to set them. What ever happened to the Name Winner Guy on this forum? He use to be responsive to the posts and questions asked?

I hear you Duke and I really hope it works out for you. My names were old grabs by Xeus last year and they were kind enough to help me out in changing the name servers.

I hope it works out for you too Steve. I'm pretty sure that if you e-mail RGNames later, they will assist you in changing the name servers. I'm afraid can't be of much help otherwise. My Korean is non-existent :)

It is not too difficult to change the nameservers. I have done it and I don't know a word of Korean! :)

Thanks for the update - Name servers are not my department - just sales - I think our Domains Dept is a bit fussy - we will wait the 60 days and move them out - thanks DVD Drip - Steve

Hi Guys, All of the partners we have should be setup with the exception of 2. We're working on an interface to allow you to easily see the inital account login and password. Send over the specific domains to [email protected] and we will get you all the info. In the first round of partners we had some problems with the emails going out from the system with the account info for customers. We will get you fixed up though. If you have already sent in a request send us another one to be sure we're working on it for you.

On another note. we are going to make some changes to the auction system again. We've been reading all of the various complaints and have been making small changes along the way to fix bugs but it sounds like one of the biggest issues is the time NameWinner consumes now out of the day to be on top of the auctions. What do you guys think about this scenerio.

-Auction ends at 10am PST.
-Any bids that outbid a domain from 9:55-10am extend the auction to 10:10.
- 10:10 all auctions are over.

Let me know if you all think this is better. We're trying to listen to the feedback we are getting and make changes appropriately.

NameWinner Guy - Appreciate the update - I will have our Domains Dept. send in a new list again - All new changes take time to work the kinks out - Thanks for posting here as I think it will make a number of the members more comfortable to see you are working on these matters. Best of luck - Steve

Thanks for the update NW Guy - also thanks for returning the checkboxes next to the names in our lists (one of my primary requests). Makes it much easier to clean up the lists.

If all auctions end at 10:10 and there is no private auction later at 1pm I think that would be a definite improvement. It would be much easier for me to block out a period of time each day from say 9:45-10:15am Pacific for NW. Having to sit through a live auction with bids that can be 15 minutes apart is a real problem for just about everyone I would think.

There are also continuing bugs with .orgs. None of the ones I have won appear in my "Won" section - nor do any of them even have a "Won" label anywhere else they appear on the site. I've received all of them that I had the high bid on, they just aren't appearing where they should.

Also, I still occasionally hit names that should be available to bid on that the system won't allow you to bid on. For exacmple, FCW.org is in Pending Delete - Restorable (PIR's version of Redemption Grace Period). I tried to enter it with the bulk bidding tool but was told the auction is closed and the name is not available, which of course is not possible.

With all the work you guys have put into the system it would be easy to get defensive in the face of all of the criticism. I appreciate that you are taking the complaints to heart and treating them as suggestions that might lead to an improved product (and more importantly acting on them).

NW still lands some great bargains for me and it is a very important service to me (otherwise I wouldn't spend so much time complaining about it! :) ).

I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to investigate the .org issue. We decided to focus in the initial phase one redesign on the .com and .net and figured the .org would work as they had. We may have broken the list though for showing up with the won status. I will check it out and get it fixed. I just checked FCW.org and it looks like namewinner won it back in 2001 :) Unfortunately those old ones aren't cleaned up out the system yet. We've started doing the clean up on a daily basis for com and net that are about to be release again but not on .org. If you ever run across one like that let us know and we can manually remove it so people can bid. We do a few of those like that a week. If anyone was curious FCW.org went for 25 back in 2001 on namewinner. Wonder how much it will go for now. I just removed it out so it can be bid on.

On another note the first and perhaps last major private auction is starting at 1pm. The domain is autoauctions.com and the current bid is $15075.

That reminds me of another bug. Domains that I and others have won with an $8.75 bid (and no other bidders) have been placed in the private auction! Just happened again today with a .org I won. When it happened a couple of days ago there were no other bidders in the late session and I did get the domain, but these never should have been placed on the private auction list to begin with. Don't know if it is happening with .orgs only (that's what mine have been).

As for FCW.org - today the final bid price will likely fall between $60-$100. Nice improvement over 2001. If you can install a button on the site that will let us pay 2001 prices, I think we would REALLY be happy. :-D

Not sure about the button for 2001 prices :) Maybe if we linked it over to the Wayback Machine.

We noticed the bug you're talking about today. Since it looks like we're getting rid of the private auction anyways that should fix it.

Sounds like you're on the right track. The only other request I can currently think of concerns "My Domain Auction Center". You have the 2 dropdown boxes that give you a variety of ways to view domain status and that is very good. The problem is there is no "sticky behaviour". My preferred views are different than the defaults that come up and I have to change them everytime to see what I want. This is also true of the number of domains per page. I have a lot of domains so I want to see 500 per page but the default is much less. So everytime I visit that section I have to stop and reset all of the parameters. I don't know how tricky it would be but it would be really cool if the selections would stay where you last used them. I'm sure you are facing more pressing issues right now - but maybe that could be looked at when all of the bigger fires are put out.
