"But again at times, exceptions will be made mostly when there is good likelihood that a particular domain may sell." They seem flexible enough about it. :eek:k:

Yeah, that would be okay but there seems to be an automated bot filter that won't even let your names be submitted if they've been registered within 365 days. (So nobody actually gets to consider them personally as they can't be submitted). Not a big deal I guess. I think they miss out on some great names though that have already been purchased at a premium (and would likely sell at a pretty good premium as well via MyID).

There are some good usable domains there that any one of us would readily add to our portfolio at the right price, but I do agree there are many domains with wishful reserves.

Wishful reserves indeed. Just a few examples - breadmakers dot ca with reserve between $2501 - $3750. If the guy think that there is a little tiny tiny little chance that it will sell at that price than he should register the hyphenated versions bread-maker(s) are both available.

CanadianArchitect dot ca - $3751 - $5000
Domain name status: CanadianArchitects.ca is available for registration.

ChattingOnline dot ca - $2501 - $3750
Domain name status: Chatting-Online.ca is available for registration.

CoffeeMakers dot ca - $2501 - $3750
Both singular/plurial hyphenated are available

How about those e domains, they are stuck in the 90s man.

eCareers dot ca
eConferences dot ca
eCooking dot ca
eGamble dot ca
and the list just gets uglier

Tulips dot ca - $10001 - $15000 hmmmmm

my 2 cents.

D.

I agree that not registering the plural of a good (or maybe not so good) generic isn't a wise choice when trying to find a motivated seller.

It's not even a day yet and there are some x,xxx and xx,xxx bids.

I personally think there are people who know other people's reserves. They are purposely bidding on their "friends" names to make it seem like there is interest. It's not a coincidence that none of these bids are meeting reserves. The one that is surprising is : GraduationGifts.ca - $2501 and reserve met! WOW.

On a side note... Anyone know how you can look at the bidding history on names? I would like to know if it's just 2 bidders who have bid..or maybe 3 or 4? This would be useful information.

I have names in this auction and I can tell you I have no idea who made bids and my names. In fact I dont even know anyone who has submitted to forms to be a buyer. I have not even done that yet. Only the seller forms.

Well, i've submitted bidder form and they haven't asked me to submit seller form.

I just need to fill the form for individual domains i list. So, since that is the case. I assume if you fill one of the agreements you are okay to bid.

Try bidding, i'm almost positive you can. Since i'm allowed to list. (without seller agreement form)

hmm strange. They told me all i have to do is sign the forms for individual domains.

By the way Kamloops, i was not accusing you of bidding on your own domains. I was just stating that it seems weird that the bids do not hit reserve. Usually if you want a domain.. a) you don't bid early. b) if you do bid early and dont hit reserve, you generally try to go up higher on your own.

Maybe i am just paranoid...and they are all genuine bids. I have no evidence that they're not.

I did not think you were accusing me. Sorry if it sounded like that. Wish mind would go above reserve!

Cheers

My fav is SN.ca, will watch it closely ;)

Hey "TheInvestor"

I was not going to respond to your generalization that friends of the domain owners are jacking the price up to just below the reserve price. but I am a bit insulted at the acusation.

Could it just be that you are a SPECULATOR and maybe some END USERS that have been lurking have now decided to move on some domains. is this a bad thing? Complaining the prices are to high? Come on give your head a shake. this is a large investment for most of us here so if the prices go up - shut up
I happen to have 3 domains in the list like so many other domainers here on DNF. I have nothing but hope that we all who have names in the auction exceed reserves.

iancc,

Thanks for responding. Since you want to argue i will take your bait.

Single.ca reserve price between 25,001 - 37000 - Current price $28500

I will assume this is an end user. Can you explain which end user bids up to $28,500 and stops? He has not hit the reserve...so what is he waiting for? is 37,000 really stopping him? I don't think so.

Lesbian.ca - Same story...and also 3k above opening price. 15,001 minimum ..Current price 18,500.

I am not complaining...i am simply stating what i see. If you don't see it. Then i know why you're defensive.

PLEASE MYID show me the BIDDING HISTORY! (it won't matter - it's only one bidder)

I agree with investor. The bidding looks shady. Both names have the same owner fyi.

Are you kidding me iancc ? You want to be insulted...your choice, but do not dare insult our intelligence. Single and lesbian are glaring examples...this behaviour is what makes some domainers a slightly higher form of life than scalpers.

it's one thing to think it, another to say it in a public forum
is the glass half full or half empty
there is still 5 days of bidding - who says END-USERS know how to bid

so answer me this simple question "theinverstor" - "Zoobar" - "Wzhxvy"
do you folks have any names in this auction?

I don't have an account at the location of the auction.

I don't know why your pissed at me for expressing my vocal support for someone elses concerns. I have made no comment on the names you have up for auction.
