This could have some very good implications for not only geos, but for general searches for products or services within those geos.

In particular, consider now that merchants now could become a geo.

Take a look at this announcement from WIRED and take a look at the enlarged (click on the photo) image of the retail shopping store in downtown NYC. Shows floor plans right down to the fitting rooms and mens/womens sections.

They gather that info so they can pass the info to their partner businesses selling condoms etc..
