He was the composer and originally recorded After Midnight and Cocaine made famous by Eric Clapton.
JJ also composed the well known Lynyrd Skynyrd hit Call Me the Breeze.

I'll Rise reminds me of the old Negro Spirituals. I collect old 78 RPM records. Those awesome Delta blues sounds, negro sprituals, and hillbilly gospel are da' bomb! I think I actually may have found a way to play, clean up and digitally enhance, record, and save on my computer those tunes.
