I'd placed a bid on AdviceSeek.com on NW, and naturally got really excited at the prospect of developing it. No-one else bidded either, so it would have been $40. But then, as always seems to happen, it didn't get caught by NW.

Did anyone here get it, and if so, where from?

And what do you guys think about the value of the domain AdviceSeek.com? Reckon it would have been a good catch?

Luke.

Actually I don't think it's that great of a domain, something like seekadvice.com would be better IMO.

I never use NW after the NW increase their price.
They increase the price but not increase the ability for catch a name.

So SeekAdvice.com is better than AdviceSeek.com.....

In the same way that SeekInfo.com is better than InfoSeek.com? :p

NW is cheaper than Pool..... but I assume Pool has a greater success rate. Oh by the way, when you register with Pool, is the $60 refunded? Their terms and conditions are really confusing.

ahhh.. of course. excellent point. but in your original post, you left out the part about the huge advertising budget you planned to allocate to build that brand identity. now that we have all the information, it makes a lot more sense

I was merely commenting on the phonetics of the phrases. InfoSeek reads better than SeekInfo, from my point of view. And the same with Advice. And the depths of my pockets is not your concern

We there must be a reason why the only .com of adviceseek is taken and 4 extensions of seekadvice is taken?

Aren't you seeking advice rather than advice seeking? Used backwards could be a way a non-english speaking person may possibly phrase it.

AdviceSeek is backwards twisted terminology and makes little sense so its value is very dubious, IMO.

Well, although the value of the name & potential will be lesser, you can register the name with the dash (-) and try developing the name based on a content with these keywords.

Good Luck !

Am I misundertanding this point?

SnapNames is not going away. They will continue to chase domains.

However, from my experience, their success rate is under 10%.
But, so is, NW.

The fact that you fools have chatted this long about this name coupled with the fact that it was registered by name admin tells me it is a pretty decent name.

The fact that you bumped up an old thread just to say that indicates that the only fool around here is you.
