I find them annoying in terms of the continuous drone on TV, but hey, it's part of the game and culture.
In Canada, where hockey is our sports "religion" the drone is that of the crowd cheering (especially during the Stanley Cup hockey playoffs) and perhaps viewers around the world could find it distracting... so I try to respect other environments.
That said... it is mind numbing the buzz !
