PayPal monthly account statements. Eh..?

Hi guys!

I'm currently sorting out all my transactions, statements, receipts and so on, because I have just got hold of an accountant who will take care of my, well.. accounting.

What I'm wondering is, how do you guys get a detailed account statement from PayPal? I have printed out the monthly account statements from PayPal, but they aren't showing most (any) of my transaction history.

An example:

When I look at my PayPal history for May 1st, 2008, I see that I received $2,500 from Sedo GmbH and $5,000 from XXXXXXXX. I also paid $3,448.50 via my credit card and $2,500 from PayPal funds. Ok, that's very detailed and it's just what my accountant wants. So I go and print out the monthly account statements, by using PayPal's feature "Get Monthly Account Statement for.. May" etc.

But none of the activities are shown on the statement. Even though I sent and received several transactions on May 1st, the statement says:

Date Number of Payments Received Number of Payments Sent Value of Payments Sent Fees Other Credits Other Debits Net

May 1, 2008 0 0.00 0 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00


.. Help! :eek:

I print out all the sent payments and fill out receipts for received payments and hand it over to my accountant. He also asks to classify the payments to categories, like domain purchase, hosting, services etc.

The monthly statements aren't good for this, they don't show all the needed info.

I do that as well, but my accountant wants the statement along with the receipts. Hmm .. I have e-mailed PayPal about the issue and if they don't have a good solution, I think I will have to manually type all the transactions in an Excel sheet or something. I will ask my accountant if he can live without the statements though, it would've made things a lot easier.

perhaps screen cap the version where it all appears and print those out...

Yeah I've thought about that too, but it's a little inconvenient IMO. :)

Just Export to excel from your PP account.

How come Excel doesn't work? :) Do you still have that IBM 286 12,5MHz computer that you bought back in 1989 ? :lol: Just kidding. But let us know the problem, maybe we can help.

The PC it won't work on is and XP...

It was a fr3eshly purchased cd of the software...

I followed all the instructions...

it installed and when I tried to launch it it was missing something on
my pc required to run it...

but that's been nearly a year ago and I can't remember what it was...

a tech at Best Buy told me to uninstall it and try again...

same problem...

I was worried that it would mess something else up on my computer
and I couldn't risk that... so I never bothered with it again...

it's been a nightmare to prep the Moniker AUCTIONS which only
accepted things on their EXCEL Form... but now I hear they have
a new ONLINE way to submit and we don't have to fax legal agreements
any more or anytihing... all automated.. I'll give that a try this weekend
the submit deadline is approaching for an event I want to participate in...

Well, should you ever find the Office CD, try to install it and write down the error message you get, then PM me and I will try to help you out. It's most likely not a big deal and I'm sure we can fix it easily. :)
