$5,000.00

People.com would be amazing. Singular form is good but nothing outstanding.

Person.com has many uses, including another LivePerson.com product, technical consulting/guru like FYIGeek.com, general contracting like Handyman.com, and on and on. Even in a depressed market, I would not let this domain go for low four figures as mentioned in previous postings. Market visibility index is extremly high and a quick check of trademarks looks clean. If a trademark lawyer gives the go-ahead, I would say sky's the limit on the value. The largest offer I ever got for a domain was $20K, and this name is 2-characters longer but only one word. Given some of the prices we've seen on GreatDomains, and heard about on the news, I would give Person.com a market value of $20K to $40K, when the market rebounds, with a realistic selling price of somewhere toward the lower end in that range, but it could surprise and go for a lot more.

$5,000-$50,000...Google returns=51,700,000

Hang on to this one tight unless your pressed for a quick sale.
When the economy rebounds, you'll be a very happy camper.

I am just curious as to how long you have owned this domain name ?

I would say a lower market rating, as what exactly market does person.com go to? Nothing specific.

Just my 02. :)

Some of these apps remind me of the old Afternic. Stop the insanity. Geez......

Yes it's a single word .com - but the name itself is very limited in it's uses. It would almost be awkward for a company to use this name. 'PEOPLE' would be one thing - but 'PERSON' is just a completely different story.

cmason22 is a first class member here - well respected - and has some awesome names. This is not one of them. It's a good name - but some of these numbers being thrown around are just crazy.

$750 - $5000 is a realistic range for this name.

Yes - 'names' are sold for over 25K all the time. What does that have to do with 'this' name?

I even edited down my original post because I figured somebody might be sensitive. This is not personal. Just real.

well that's your opinion. If "granny.com" can sell for 20k and "picard.com" for 15k and "sanborn.com" for 15k, i'm guessing "person.com" would sell for more than 5k.

There will always be exceptions & anomalies like the examples you gave - because the end user is the ONLY one who truly sets the names value - because he/she is the one who is willing to pay for it.

However - to base any type of generalization on such anomalies is not wise. This is why I very rarely do apps anymore. Most people just can't handle the truth - and take it personally for some reason. I've never understood that - and I never will.

I don't see what makes you qualified to make such a definitive statement dismissing everyone else's opinions.

The examples i gave were not exceptions or anomalies, they are the norm. High profile sales of this sort occur regularly, but sales are not publicized as they once were.

Exactly - you don't see. That's the problem. :)

I wasn't making a .... "definitive statement dismissing everyone else's opinions." .... as you claim. Stop being silly and trying to start trouble. I was just saying that SOME of the apps were crazy. Not all of them. Some of them are very realistic. Sorry KidKool - but I am also free to express my opinions too! I never mentioned anyone specific - yet now you have posted directly to me 3 times. Really buddy - aren't you being a tad bit sensitive here - especially considering it's not even your name? Heh!

Furthermore - if you really believe that those other nam........

Never mind. I won't argue with you. You proved my point about the problem with doing appraisals.

Take care man. No hard feelings! :)
