Well, I think the dot Info guy bailed out too quickly but I agree it is not the most appropriate use of dot info, which I think still has a future even though it is very slow to lift-off.

yes, there are far better uses for .info
having said that they get the generic term their after in one of the top tld's , if it's not a reseller/investor that is.
either way, prob could have got more, but was in a live auction after the well publicised pizza.com 'sale' so maybe it's the top price they could have achieved currently?

Dot Mobi, well I think he did well to bail out when he did. I really don't see this extension surviving for more than another 6 months. In retrospect, it has to be one of the lamest ideas ever!

couldn't disagree more.
firstly he didn't bail out, it was a premium reserved naem and went to auction. i actually think it went extremely cheaply in end all thing considered and when you stop to think about it, it's abrilliant product term to have for a mobile site and the full blown site
hope it will be built out as a site, which actually it has to be under the terms of purchase from mtld

As for the two big sales, I would put money on the dot com either going through or fetching more second time out. The dot Net we have to wait and see, but I wouldn't write it off.

as far as the com 'sale'
personally i think it is highly unlikely it will go through
having said that, i did say before that either the seller has been completely naive to go to media and papers etc heralding his 'sale' before it has completed OR sedo have tipped him wink who the buyer is, i.e Dominos or someone, so he knows will go through. just an idea. i certianly don't think it would sell for more if it didnt go through as a failed sale would hurt the domain imo. although is possible some 'big boys' maybe made aware of availability after sale didn't go though. it also has traffic and the site has a long existence on net, so is not just a domain

as far as the .net 'sale'
i'll fall off the chair if that goes thru, is a faked auction imo. its almost laughable.
look at previous highs for net sales, thers not even that many really high ones and pizza cant compare to sex or realestate, well not in domain terms ;)

like i say, lets keep watching dnjournal and see what happens

So tell me, on the strength of all this am I sitting on a winner with BeijingPizza.com (given pizza is the topical word and given the Olympics are four months away)?

Or is that stretching the dough a bit too far?
