I just saw a small plane go down on Hudson. One engine exploded...

Just saw it on the news - very, very lucky not to be all dead. The pilot must've been brilliant.

Happy to hear no one was hurt. Will make one heck of a story to tell the grandkids.

The pilots did a great job of landing the plane. The Hudson river was the only place they could have landed it with a minimal amount of damage and loss of life in New York. No lives lost on the plane either.

Sources tell CNN that Chelsey B. "Sully" Sullenberger was piloting US Airways flight 1549 from New York's LaGuardia airport to Charlotte, North Carolina, when at least one of the plane's engines failed.

2 things:

firstly, pilot a god.
secondly, i was a firefighter in London Fire Brigade for 13 years, we proudly considered ourselves, the biggest, oldest and best in world. I think every fireman in London, i hope to speak for them, would say nyc fireman are heroes of biblical proportions. i salute you guys. let me say, you cannot drill or prepare for this shit. you guys were awesome. what i saw tonight was synergy between private and public services and was awestruck. it left me buzzin. simply outstanding.

Hey, that's a short piece up the road from me. Never heard of her, though.

I entered a news story about the plane crash into Estibot's "Semantic Domain Finder," which tries to extract phrases and see whether they're registered in .com. So I'm now the proud owner of PlaneTakeoff dot-com (WordTracker = 44!). ;)
