I had one of those but there are some issues
1) It needs to be planted VERY high. The planter itself is about 3' high so you need that plus room for tomatores
2) They're heavy so they need very strong supports.

I've seen portable greenhouses for $60 - PM me a link to the ones you sell?

I used this stuff "shake away" it's crystallized fox, badger etc.. urine. It worked great for about 2 months - then stopped working. Ferret poop is the best way to go. I'm back in contact with the local ferret rescue.
Nothing will last. If it worked for two months then redo with fresh. Even Lowe's sells a brand.

my biggest waste of money was spraying castor oil to rid the yard of voles and moles.

It worked great. They simply moved to another part of the yard. When the oil degraded, they moved right back in.

I gave up on them. Dogs dig huge trenches following their burrows.

I have seen snakes get them as well as the Hawks getting the vole or the snakes.

Each spring we have a huge beautiful Golden Eagle perched on our property. He sits in a monster size walnut tree in the middle of our back yard. The moles and voles become very active in the spring. I have seen him swoop down to the ground a few times but unable to see what he is getting. I would estimate a wing span of perhaps 7feet or more. Can honestly hear him flapping his wings when he takes off from the ground and rushes by.

I didn't mean to insinuate that I sprinkled it once and forgot about it - I would refresh it weekly, 2-3 times a week if we had a lot of rain.

They started to ignore it, even after 3 bottles (shakers) of the stuff.

Rain will make stuff like that useless in no time.

Best solution to mice? Cat.

You'd think - right? We have neighborhood cats that do make our way into our patio but haven't done a damn thing about the mice - they're enthralled by our chickens (which they can't get to).

I seriously thought of getting a ferret again if ferret rescue doesn't get back to me. The poop will stay around a lot and not attract many flies.

Why is there such a mice issue? Is it because of the chicken's waste? Or is this common to that area? Are you near a large meadow?

The only other remedy I can think of is contact an exterminator. The supply containers that are low profile and enclosed contents. Pets can not get into them but mice and rats can. They feed on the poison and the theory is they go back to the nest where the younguns are feed and all end up dying.

Sorry, but I really don't know how else to describe this contraption. It is not really a trap but also like it is a feeding station.
