Has anyone played poker online?

If so, where is the best place that you've found?

I just signed up at betonusa.com since they claim that they will credit my account $50 before loading my account. I just want to see if anyone knows of a better place.

If you are a decent player, PartyPoker.com has a TON of fish ;-)

PokerStars.com is nice too. Those are the two that I frequent. I prefer PokerStars over PartyPoker because of the promotions and such.

Happy drawing!

PokerRoom.com is fun too, no downloads required. Yes, Bob is correct. PartyPoker.com has many newcomers playing with REAL money, so it's easy to make a few bucks, if even more.

That comment right there made me go download PartyPoker. But now I'm gonna lose all my money, and I'll blame it on you.

Indeed PartyPoker and PokerRoom for Ring Games and PokerStars for Torunaments. Poker is a great game, you just need to know where to stop...

I've played on Party for the past week, made about $400, and decided to stop as it's just not nearly as fun as the ring games I play at our local Native American casino.

Is it legal to play poker and other casino games online for real money?
I've always wanted to play, but I thought it wasn't legal.

None of these supports PayPal :(.
If anyone wants to make a quick $10 - I'll pay $50 in PayPal in exchange for a CC deposit of $40 to any of the above (PartyPoker preffered)

added:
Well just found out that Paypal policy prohibits transferring money to online gambling sites. This is why none of the poker sites have PayPal as a transfer option.

I play NLHE and PLO on ultimatebet.com, pokerstars, and empire. i've been a poker player for 3 years now and a small part of me wants to quit my dayjob to play fulltime :) Madcamel, I think I should be able to help you. PM me.

We should arrange a DNForum tourney!

I'd be all over a tournament. I've played for about 15 years now, the past 8 seriously. I would consider being a full-time player if it weren't for the fact that I love my job too much :)

Well, if we get enough interest in a tournament, I would suggest PokerStars because they have the best structure by far IMO (and a few here have said as well)

I have a forum and our members have frequent tournies there, Pstars allows us to set up private tables that are password protected.

Assuming we're looking at doing this for real $$ (let's say a $10 - $20 buyin tournament) I also know a way that we could easily add quite a lot of money to the total prizepool without costing anyone more $$.

$20 buy-in? That's all? With 20 players, that's only $400.

How about a $50+10rb NL?

I figured a lower buyin would make some newcomers feel more welcome...and again, I know how we can increase the prizepool. There also is no reason why it has to be capped @ 20 players.

Lower buyin keeps it more casual/friendly as well...if we wanted to set up a "high roller" league, that's something that could be done as well.

it is more of a case that paypal do not support gambling online.

I beleive it is their policy to not supply accounts to companies that wish to use their service to take payments for gambling activities.

Paypal used to be the main way to fund casinos/poker but when eBay took over the rules changed. Now most people use www.neteller.com (site is very slow at the moment, maybe the russian DoS attackers are doing there thing again)

Some visa work but forget about it if you got a mastercard. If you got Switch then Party Poker have just implemented them - best way to do it if you're a brit.

I've got a little knowledge in this area ;) So I'm game to play (any stakes) or help setup a tourney

Online poker is fun and all but its just not realistic..way too many bad beats. Ive seen more royal flushes, four of a kind, etc online than in all my years of playing IRL. Also, PartyPoker is full of riverwhores :p

It is realistic...you're going to see a TON of badbeats because you're seeing at least 10 times more hands than you would in a B&M cardroom.

At a casino, you're looking at anywhere from 20-60 hands an hour (at a talkitive table and slow dealers/changing dealers)

You're looking at least 90 hands per hour online...and for those that play more than 1 table at a time like myself, you're going to encounter a LOT of hands...

I usually play 2-3 PLO tables at once. :)

Yes, i've lost QUADS to straight flushes (or higher quads) but I've also made some huge pots with some huge hands.

Oh man I just got an idea (that's a first)

We (the mods) should DEFINITELY install some sort of VB hack which allows us to play hold'em with our DNF points. That would rule
