Everytime I attempt to create a new thread in the "Domain News" section for important breaking news, my thread hits the moderation queue and does not get posted (until a moderator sees it and approves it). This is extremely annoying given it has happened several times now. I'm already "Exclusive" and "Verified" so one would think that demonstrates I don't post here to spam, and that posts should be unmoderated (one can always delete them or edit them later if they break any rules).

Anyhow, see whether the thread, duplicated in Exclusive at:

http://www.dnforum.com/f71/new-gtld...t-tiered-pricing-continues-thread-351383.html

is newsworthy or not, breaks any rules, and why it couldn't go unmoderated and be visible immediately. This is the only domain forum where my articles get moderated in such a manner.

George I understand your concern and we have gone this route because of members spamming non news related information in this section. We have admin/moderators here around the clock and this particular post of yours was approved 20 minutes after posting it. I think that's reasonable, but will continue to keep an eye out and see if changes are needed.

Thanks,
Chuck

Thanks, Chuck. Other times it has taken many hours, though. Isn't there a privilege system whereby you can allow certain classes of users (e.g. Exclusive and Verified) to post unmoderated? If they ever abused their privileges, it's trivial to punish them by dropping their status.

George,

It is not practical as we do have Exclusive members violate the rules everyday.

Perhaps if you sanction them, they would not violate them. What's the point of having rules if there are no repercussions for violating them?

I stopped posting in the news section once it took forever to get my posting up.

I figure I know it that's good enough for me and my blogs. I've wanted to share more, but if I'm being censored then fuggetaboutit.

Note: I never have been warned or banned or anything in my 6 years here.

Hi George

i/we know you are not a spammer and that you "stay" on top of events in the industry.

it may mean going an extra mile, but you can send me/us a pm alert if you wish.

and your point for violators is well taken!

I was curious of the 1162 Exclusive Members (out of 71,469 total DNForum members), how many are also verified? (i.e. if a change was to be made, how many users would gain the extra privilege?)
