Anybody know if there has been any research on where the best location is to open popup windows?. For example, if it opens top right, will there be more clicks then if it opened bottom left?.

Research shows pop-unders work best. But then again, business ethics show that even Netscape and AOL think popups have lived their grace period.

My experience (120-150K site visits per day) is that only about 30% of pop-unders created as an onunload in the body tag get created but of those the click-through rate is 3 to 4 times that of a similar ad on a busy web page.

keep it targeted or you will only confuse/disatract/pissoff your visitors.
