When I try to "quick reply" or "reply" to my post informing members of a price drop, it appends it to my last message instead of making a new post.

Why do that? It prevents a seller from updating a thread...seems kinda odd.

Is this a domain selling forum or a game room where arcade games and DNF betting are more important than domain sales?

yea...but if the thread is off the first screen, it won't move it back to the top. So you're foreced to keep creating the same thread every day...rather than updating the current sales threads you have going. It wouldn't be such a big deal except we're limited to 1 thread every 24 hours.

This forum is getting less and less seller friendly. Domains (quality ones) is one of the draws to a domain forum...not games and betting, that just brings the kids and makes the forum seem less professional.

It's an 8-hour anti-bump hack. Not unreasonable in my opinion.

It's not unreasonable, but it's also not seller friendly. Why implement that? What happens when a seller is selling a few hundred domains and the sales are happening every 15 minutes or so. All of his posts appended to the first post is just dumb.

Can we make it maybe a 1 hour anti-bump hack?

Its not unreasonable though, and its not reallu unfriendly, it just means other people get their threads at the top too...rather then having them shoved down the page due to constant bumps

If there is a reply from a buyer, it bumps it. If you reply after the buyer, it bumps it. The only time it doesn't bump is when you reply to your own post within 8 hours. It will afix to your last post. If you need to make an edit, you can still edit.

It takes two to tango!! EVERY sale needs not only a seller BUT ALSO A BUYER. If this forum is going to be THE market place for domain sales, we need to make it buyer-friendly as well.

By the way, what has this anti-bump vB hack got to do with gaming and betting?

Not needed.. maybe once every few hours as a precaution for some of the annoying bumpers.

How is updating a thread not buyer friendly? Updating the thread keeps the buyer's current with the sales in the thread...so it is very buyer friendly. Your logic is a bit off there.

The gaming was mentioned because it's another thing that makes the site seem less professional. Why are there games on a professional forum? I'm at a loss. Look back one year ago and you will notice a few high rollers who no longer come here and one personally told me "the games seem more important to the management than some 15 year old shitting in my thread". :undecided

DNForum was always the best forum for sales...but as of late, my last 3 big sales came on a different forum...but no one seems to care here....lets redesign the sign yet again and add some more games and a sports book.

That kind of perception hurts all of us. Do you see any games on GreatDomains or Sedo or Pool? It dosen't matter anyway, no one seems to care about constructive criticism. It's like talking to a wall. :-#

The Games link is a small text link all the way on the right of the nav bar. Quite frankly I forgot we had games. I had to look to find them. Why does the presence of that link bother you? There are not games on the home page or in any of the forums. The sportsbook is one of the few forums that Silver members have access to, and it's a way to win f$ to spend on DNF.

The purpose of this site should be to bring buyers and sellers together and to offer some help to people with questions and/or problems. The game thing has always bothered me...I even told Adam that when he asked me about it when I was a mod here. If people want to play games...go to a game site. You want to buy and sell domains, come here.

Remember when the auctions here were good and dozens of domains would sell? Remember when 3 letter .coms were in the auction? How's the auction been lately? Maybe resources should be pointed that way rather that to another redesign or to the game room or sports books.

Just my two cents...but like I said, no one is listening anyway.

Well I've replied to all of your posts. Why am I not listening? DNF$ are a big part of this forum. How do people get DNF$ in a fun way? Sportsbook.

Who cares about DNF? Let's talk about the chat room. There use to be a lot of people in there everyday. How's that doing now?

Get rid of games, sportsbook and DNF...and stop redesigning the site!

Fix the chat room and auctions...don't you think that's more important?

There's a new auction format if you choose to use it. Like I said, the sportsbook and games are just background features, I don't even notice they are there.

You should have no problem updating your thread; HOWEVER, bumping is a TOTALLY different story and is simply NOT something that would be kindly received by MOST established forums. To be honest, the current 8 hour ceiling is relatively lax when compared to some stricter places. Try bump with some non-sense posts elsewhere, and you'll be gone (temporarily suspended) for at least 3 weeks.
