I would most definitely agree. Is the new Afternic having more success than it's predecessor? I kind of tuned out on that venue.

The old AfterNic.com was nothing more than a laughing stock towards the end with BS appraisals and lousy support. I'd say anybody should and could do better than that.

The only problem about finding a deal like the 2 letter .com is that when a bid is made there is no longer a " recent bids" category.
The member holding the domain PP.com must have just listed it recently & someone was scrolling thru & found it. You have to visit it quite frequently to find them. :D

Could be mid 6 figures to the right enduser.

Personaly Pontificating, I'd say that the Purchase Price of this name was Particularily Positive for the Purchasing Party.

That is dirt cheap for a pure two letter name. I am upset why I missed it.

The future looks rosey to me. People should be buying not selling names in my opinion.

I agree whole heartedly.

Look around at all the bankruptcies & fraud, layoffs & more.

Look at the bullish market. Also the demand for domains is going up as more and more people get broadband and venture to the net for job hopes, lower prices, and more.

There is no telling if someone will recoup there investment on these 2 letter .com domains.

I agree......but PP.com was definitely a good buy.

There's already an active thread about this (right here), so I just merged yours from the "Misc. Forum".

Hmm ... If my memory serves me right, pp.com WAS a website about Hong Kong property market. And I can tell you ANYTHING that is web-related goes down the drain over there. So I'm not really surprised by the sale price.

Just to get an idea, what are pure two letter domains usually worth?

I'm assuming (no intentions on implementing any real sites here)

zx.com
yi.com
qu.com

are far less valuable then the more common letters such as

dc.com
tr.com
sd.com

But what amount would most of you pick up one of these domains for?

Not actually. There is only 3 or 4 pages of 2 letter names there. The problem is that you need to find a sucker like an ex-owner of PP.com who could sell that kind of name for $9,5K
