PR updates...I have Major Changes

Any body notice the PR on their sites changing.

Over the past week I have seen most of my developed sites go up in PR

One site in 25 go down in Rank

And only a few not show any change at all.

Currious what others are seeing :approve:

*Edit to add: Not showing in all Data Centers, but in most.....

Seems the PR update is coming to an end.

I am happy with my results.

It usualy takes about 6 to 7 days to finish and be synchronized on all servers.

Most of my sites went up 2 rank average.
One site dropped 2 - PR5 to PR3 :-(
One site unchanged.
Few site PR0 to PR4 :-D

One site shows PR prediction from PR6 to PR7 on next update at iWebtool

However, PR has nothing to do with traffic & revenue it seems.

PR effects rankings --> rankings effect traffic --> traffic effects revenue

Unless you don't know how to monetize the traffic

SEOlogs reports a completion of update on its site.

Today is the 5th day:nod:

I would start relying on the PR Display as from Thursday, maybe even tomorrow.

Most will allready now be correct, but there may still be some fluctuation.

people are way too worried about PR, Alexa rank, etc.

Is your site getting traffic/making money? If yes, who cares what your PR is? If not, don't gloat about your PR, work on trying to increase traffic/revenue.

Right!!

Many people think PRis extremely important, some people make a prestige race out of their PR. Basicly PR is "only" used for a pre indexing in Google. This is only one of many factors that influence your position in the Google search. It is an aditional instrument to help you be above other sites with similar "relevance" to the seached string.

More important is good content, correct choice of description and keywords, and a good SEO. And of course backlinks.

People saying: "yes!! my PR2 website went to PR3, I am so great at this!" is just pointless.

If you have a PR6, PR7 or PR8 site then you have something valuable, otherwise don't waste your time worrying about the ranking and focus on providing your users with unique and interesting content and then generating revenue from those visitors.

My advice is to forget about monitoring your Google Page Rank. I really care little about my PR overall because I know with a diverse portfolio it makes little difference in total. One month x number of sites may drop in PR but x number of sites get better PR the same month, and the cycle alternates and repeats month after month. Not much you can do to quickly get (it's a very slow process) good PR except improved content and getting more links (even then it may not have an effect) should help but that is something you should be routinely doing anyway regardless of page rank.

I couldn't disagree more...

the PR system is a good indicator whether your doing things correct on your websites or not , it can be a very usefull indicator of direction . Also , when you offer text links for sale , more times than not the advertiser will want to know the google PR ,

I say you are off topic, because I ask people to share what they have been seeing. You did not share and then told people to not respond to my question.


Well, please don't do that in my thread or anybody's thread for that matter.
If you would like to share what you experinced after G's latest update I would be happy to listen to your contribution to the thread.

If you don't see the value in PR it does not mean that there is no value in PR, it just means you don't see it. Yes, even in PR 1-2 sites when used "effectively".

Its common knowledge, PR deals with inbound links to your page. Therefore, nothing on the page itself impacts your PR.

Well, heres what I say..

if they want to talk about their PR , let them..

If someone trys to sell you a site based on PR, then you can lecture them about the story behind pr and etc etc

But, the thread is just about what has yours updated too.. that simple

Every thread doesn't need to turn into a back and forth meaningless discussion.
