state name lasercenter.com - $2500 seems like a very fair price - his competitors would doubtless pay more. The fact you've told him $2.5k and he's still talking to you means you've not frightened him away.

Stick to your price - if you're looking to feel good about yourself, knock off $100

Do them the "courtesy" of reducing the price to $2k + escrow fees. Make it clear it will be your last price and after that you will move forward with your "project" building the domain out and once that planning starts the option of sale will no longer be there. Sounds like you paid $60 for the name ... $2k would be a very reasonable turnaround. ( this is all assuming they haven't be A**holes about this ... if they have stay firm ). $2k can be turned around into a name that will produce more rev for you. imho

Do the domain industry a favour, and give it to the guy for what he offered...
Sounds like it's not worth anything except to the guy who wants to buy it, and you are just holding it hostage.... It's a decent offer for a worthless domain, take it...

Funny...... would you do the same thing if it was you selling them the domain name?

If you don't need the cash, I don't see where your dilemma is, except perhaps greed.

I have sold a domain back to it's previous owner for as little as $700.

To each, their own way... in regard to the handling of these types of situations.

Hmm...Maybe you should consider sending him an email with a little white lie. Tell him you wanted to know if he is accepting your offer of $2500 because you have been contacted by a competing service that offered you $1500 already. It may get him to offer more and at the least it will make him consider what happens if a competitor gets the name. Heck you may want to get a phone book and make some cold calls on the matter.
