One month since I commented here as well - So SEDO has turned into AfterNic after all.

There is no excuse what so ever to hold funds for this long a time period. They are obviously not to be taken serious.

I would email them every hour of every day until they paid.

Could be the buyer? Jordan, the buyer already has a website resolving that has been using the domain for about 2 months. According to sedo the buyer paid within a few days of the contracts being signed, and sedo makes no denial that they were paid by the buyer at that time.

I've never read any reports of Afternic holding escrow funds longer than necessary.

You must be referring to the OLD Afternic. I have received VERY quick payments from the new Afternic on everything I have sold there (including 4-figure deals).

After having a little good luck finally involved in this transaction, I have finally recieved payment. Thanks to all for showing concern with this matter. Sedo sent the money when they said that they did, yet due to the fact that they do not have a U.S. Bank account their bank had to use an affiliate bank here in the U.S. The money was then sent on October 17th to a Bank in ShrevePort Louisiana, instead of my bank in Metairie Louisiana. The two banks have nothing in common except for being in the same state. The luck came into play, when the bank officer at the shreveport bank, finally decided to send the money back since it had not been claimed by one of their members, nor did they have one with my name. The transaction was brought to the attention of the Bank Manager, who just happens to know my father, and contacted him this morning to transfer the funds.

I still feel that sedo could have been a much more organized and helpfull in tracking down the wire. And also feel that it will be detrimental to the security and speed of transactions, to look into getting their own U.S. bank account.

Sedo was a great place to find a buyer very fast for a reasonable price, yet I think that I could have done much better recieving less last month and investing it into other project, rather than spending all of this time and effort dealing with this lack of organization. JMO

Thanks Again for your input,
Sid

Yes Duke, you are correct, I was referring to the old AfterNic. I have not had any dealings with the "new".

That doesn't sound really good and it seems that you're doing everything I'ld recommend right now.

When I used sedo (the German version) I didn't have any problems (neither as buyer or seller) and the money was on my bank account within 10 business days after the deal was over.
