I have a domain for sale, that someone placed a bid on. The user sent me a PM to bid. I replied to my own thread to simply update it to show people that someone placed a bid (the minimum bid I might add). Well, my post was deleted, which brought my thread on to the second page of the forum section(basically where NOONE will see the bid).

How am I suppose to sell my domain if I can't even show people that I am getting bids? I'm not trying to put down the rules or anything. I just am really interested on what I am suppose to be doing.

Hi

you could have asked that member to "post" their offer in the thread to make it public.

now i'm not accusing you of this but...

there have been times when members may "say", that they have received an offer via pm/email/phone/msn/aol/another venue, etc.

and it's possible they never got any offers.

i particularly, do not like to compete in a bidding war with "pm" offers.

the other option is to try and negotiate a better deal with the offer you received.

the real issue is time and how "frantic" you are to sell this/these domains.

if you have received one offer now, perhaps in the future you may receive more.

it's also possible those offers could be higher than the one/one's you are currently getting.

there is also the issue of "bumping" and multi-thread bumping.

if you start a thread today and another member has about 7 other threads in that section, he could...bump all of them and push your thread to the "3rd" page>

and then "4 other members" could bump 4 of their threads and then you'll be on page 8 :)

i used to ask others members in the past, who bump their threads often to have consideration of others, but do you think they give a "&%*$".

they wanna sell their names too!

imo...

Personally. I have no problem with having a single thread with all my domains and simply bumping when I get a bid (or once every 48 hours or so).

Right now I feel pressured to create an entirely new thread every time I get a bid, simply because I can't bump my original thread. When I create an entirely new thread, they never get touched.

And i completely understand the people who post they have bids from PM, but could be fake bids. I guess I could ask the user's permission to post their name in the thread.

Anyway, I'm not here to say any of the rules are right or wrong. Rules are rules. I'm willing to abide by them. As a forum owner myself, I know what you have to deal with. I just want to know what is within the rules to insure my domains are kept in sight when I get bids.

Sorry if I caused any problems or anything. :)
