I think as soon as a major corporation starts (inter)nationally advertising a ".me" then the .me speculation will not be speculation anymore.

Will Apple choose to do that? It's up to them.

The problem right now is that people are waiting to see other people's success stories instead of going out on a limb and making their own success story.

Of all the ccTLDs rebranded into generic TLDs, I think .tv is more attractive than most others and it's not really in the same league as the established TLDs. Why would .me be doing any better ?

Everyone has their own sense of self worth. By making a .me site, you are marketing not only to individual people but to their sense of individuality.

.me has worldwide appeal, especially from the English speaking community.

It also has appeal to the Spanish and Italian speaking communities as "me" (as far as I know) has the same meaning in all 3 languages.

.me is more than a country code. It is an expression of self.

Do you think this will push it even more?. http://www.apple.com/mobileme/

Had this very conversation with another member here.

He pointed out that apple owns ME.com. A brilliant acquisition and one that the .me registry should have gone after for their own branding.

Moreover, Apple also acquired MobileMe.Com and has been active branding it. Which may (one day) lead to Apple actively going after Mobile.me through a sale or possibly use more aggressive tactics : WIPO

Let's not forget to mention what a boost for .me if Apple shows interest in their extension.

I can't even imagine that the company was auctioning TM-related names.

if they own "mobileme.com" that does not give them any rights to "mobile.me"

the term "mobile me" is slang, just like many of the other "hip" terms corporate world is stealing from urban america.

then they flip it around and market it back to the world!
