Well I've rejected many offers over the years - the lowball offers are easy ones to do. However - I recently had rejected my highest offer ever on a domain name (lease with purchase offer) and my inners felt numb. I know I did the right thing but I sure could have used the cash. Ironically - I had the same feeling when I mistakingly almost sold the same name at a much lower price at one of the live auctions (luckily it didn't sell).

Anybody else gone goofy on the inside after turning down big deals?

Don't think to the past, think to the future.

I never dwell on the past. Its a good thing too because I have made plenty of mistakes. But there were some successes too. I think worrying is bad because you miss opportunities.

However, if you have only one good domain, that is different. You probably want to optimize it. Or, if you have tons of money, and so no pressure to sell, then you can take your time and sell only at the highest price. But for most people, it falls somewhere in the middle. One good sale can fund many more purchases, therefore not every sale has to be optimized.

Sometimes time is more important than money. In fact, time is almost always the most important thing, though many people do not realize it.

The future is brighter. Never look back. I have sold many names in the past for pennies compared to what they would sell for now. There are some I wished I just had now too.

Each time you reject an offer, it's because you have an inner faith that the domain can sell for more. It might take some time but the right buyer comes along.

One of the most important posts at DNF. What you said is testament to all of us. Thanks for the reminder.

I think we all feel those "hunches" now and then and most of the time what your gut tells you works out in the long run. When you least expect it the right buyer tends to come along with the type of offer you had hoped for.

only time will tell... I'm sure if someone offered you big bucks before someone will again.

or they might come back with a higher offer later.
