because past experiences of many people if someone starts an issue about a domain, Godaddy automatically takes the domain away even before any WIPO decision is taken. Plus the Registrant is charged something around $30 for admin fees.....crazy but true.

now that is funny...Godaddy surely does'nt just "take the domain away" but they do charge people an admin fee over a TM inquiry on it if you have whois privacy....I have alot of valuable domains at Godaddy..they are one of the safest and biggest registrars and surely a much better choice than idiots like registerfly and the other similiar 5 man operations...at least you know Godaddy is going to be around and is accountable for their actions and they have PLENTY of money...hosting issues may be another story with them but names are fine with Godaddy...but overall probably better off with moniker or enom obviously..with NETSOL being tops for mega value generics imo...

Anything you buy for x,xxx and sell for xxx,xxx is always *better *my little foreign friend..

Chris
Thanks for explaining and for calling me a little foreigner.

Regfly is a pretty bad example, as they are obviously not the best choice.

I prefer to keep my better names at Moniker, but that is just personal preference

Regfly is a bad example now but I remember back in the day when alot of people encouraged everyone to use them..lol, times have surely changed!

as far as the "my little foreign friend" don't read too much into things...lol, you are foreign and I consider you a "little" bit of a friend... so 1+2 = 3 and a cup of chinese tea or whatever makes you feel better...

As far as I can recall, I think the owner paid x,xxx for rex unless I am mistaken, so now selling it for xxx,xxx (hopefully) is quite a flip.

i'll be honest, got my doubts over this sale but on it's day it can achieve this price.
hope seller is getting sedo brokers to contact endusers to notify them of the sale, cos they will.

www.rexresorts.com etc

good luck

great advertising by the seller whatever he's doing, lol

I think if most people here agree that Bob.com is a $1 million domain then Rex.com is certainly worth half that if not more.

So, "What About Rex?"

If bob.com was worth $1 million it would have already sold for $1 million. rex.com is not worth 1/2 million. It's not worth $395K either.

safest? You may ask this to more people who lost names there....INC.mobi was one example by one of our DNF members.

Rex is rather a radical name. Too controversal or too "cool" to be accepted by the majority.
I have a friend changed his name from Andy to Rex for which I felt odd. :D
Not quite sure how the historical latin word "rex" for "king" is considered too controversial or too "cool". Latin and greek are typically the root derivatives to most english words. T-rex...Tyrannosaurus rex...king of the Dinosaurs.

rex would have more universal appeal than most three letter words as latin is the basis for most biological, legal, and medical terms, not to mention numerous languages as Italian, Spanish, and some Portuguese.

Plus the aforementioned usages by previous members.

Yes, your friend may be odd. And rex may be "too cool" of a name for him. But if REX.COM does sell for $395K I will not be the least bit surprised at this price.

'Rex' is special in the UK. It's used everywhere concerning monarchs. When Charles becomes king, he'll be CIIIR. -- everyone's heard of EIIR I guess; well that's short for 'Elizabeth [the second] Regina' which is Latin for 'Queen'. Charles will be CIIIR - Charles [the third] Rex. I only make this point as 'Rex' is a superlative brand/corporate name and has very long and strong roots in many western cultures.

Rex is not too uncommon in the US as a guy's first name. Or a dog's :D

I'm tempted to bid just to see whether the initial bidder would be dragged into a bidding war :p

Just kidding about the bidding part; although I wonder if a bidding war would occur at this price :D
