There are a lot of images in vBulletin that are also links, and after a while it gets annoying not being able to open these in a new window.

Do we really need to have image right clicking disabled on a webmaster forum such as DNforum? It's not like 99% of us could "steal" any image we wanted anyway without right clicking, although there aren't really any images to steal in the first place. :)

Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Hold shift + click on the link/image.

It will open it in a new window.

Interesting. Thanks for the tip. I haven't used that method before.

I still don't think disabling right clicking benefits anyone though.

if you using firefox try ctrl+click on the image to open it in a new tab or middle click also works :)

I dont use that. I simply right click, then dont move your mouse, then when it shows the message, press "enter". Woot. Pwned.

Firefox
About:config
set browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs to true.
The radio buttons in Tools Options Advanced will then include the option to force links that open in a new window to open in a new tab

For IE7 (may be same for other browsers)
Shift + click = opens in new window
Ctrl + click = opens in new tab

Hold down Ctrl and then click works in Netscape 7.1 too.

I also would like the "right click disabled" to be removed, although I must admit that on DNF I rarely right click on an image, preferring to click on an available text link if there is one.

I do get annoyed with other sites that disable right clicking altogether!

Holding down CTRL when clicking on images opens up a new FF tab (at least how I have it set to force links that open in new windows in a new tab).

Just what I needed. Thank you! :)

EDIT: Giving credit where credit's due... thanks cooljeba. Somehow I missed your post. I considered myself net savvy, but I suppose not. :(

I didn't get it the first time.

But now I have seen the light! i.e. when the "Right click on images disabled!" message comes up, instead of clicking on ok, press enter, then the menu magically appears for selecting "Open in new window".

Smart!

The "problem" is for those who haven't read this thread.

Thanks for posting this! I cannot imagine living without tabs anymore and have always disliked that the right click on images had been disabled on this board. Now I finally know what to do. :)
