So what did you buy? Is it a secret? I would like to see what $1800 buys from BD. So you are trying to collect 5 extensions for the same domain name? .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz? Or are you not a .us man.

Yeah, its a secret, jh. I don't more competition for the same names from fleet-footed highly resourced scavengers like you ;)

Yeah, I like 5-baggers based on the current gTLD benchmark - .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz

I also go for .us, .cn and am preparing for .eu

I am currently also interested in .co.uk and .de, but I need to wait until eNom brings in .de into its fold. I trust eNom completely.

My goal is to create the ultimate 10-bagger for my targeted names. But its an extremely painful and expensive process that will probably take forever given what my pockets will allow.

Thank god I'm not after sex.com.

Maybe he or she has tried .com and either can't afford it or domain is not for sale.

Yeah, the most scary part in domain acquisition is that some domains are actually NOT for sale, unless you can fork up with some ridiculous price.

Ooohh! My morning is starting out right, a good .biz VS .com discussion (thank you god!)

101) Reasons to like .biz: It just get's better with age

102) They are highly brandable into the new business technology concepts: Anywhere.biz - Take your business Anywhereâ„¢

103) They can "enhance" your position within a particular sector in the market: Protection.biz - It's everywhere you need itâ„¢

104) With respect to how .biz stacks up against .com. It's not even an issue right now. Everyone knows that a short generic .com name is far superior to a .biz right now. However "in time" once certain .biz names have "crept" into the psyche of most peoples minds, it will prove to be a formidable opppenent. Since certain people have gone on PPC domain buying sprees they are making the dot com landscape look like a "junk yard". Just check out Protection.com. My competition in the future will be a PPC page... Ah, success does eventually consume you!

105) Listen to developers! Not speculators. Developing a name-space is difficult. Talking about it is easy. So far it seems, .biz is only "adorned" by those who seek to build her!

106) In the end, this argument gets tiring, but I still love it. I love seeing reasons why someone may or may not be for something. It says a lot about why the top 5% of the people in this country run it..... ;)

Who are going to be the "developers" of .com in the future? Since certain "domainers" have the wherewithall to purchase top "keyword" dot com names, what do you suppose the dot com "type-in" landscape is going to look like in say 5 years?? ;)

I tell you what it's going to look like.... PPC hell!!

Although Neulevel has been somewhat lax with it's rules as far as .biz goes, there are some "protections" in the language to protect this namespace from being turned into a "cyber garbage dump".

Imagine, owning some very valuable real estate in the upper east side of Manhattan in New York. All of sudden, some wealthy investors start to build "kiosk" stands all around your apartment building. What would happen to the "value" of your property "over time"?

Just curious for discussion purposes what you think about all the PPC activity going on in the dot com name-space...

I do think PPC is a way to waste a domain. But I am pretty sure .biz domains are going to end up the same way even if there are rules setup to stop it. I personally do redirect some domains to a PPC while they wait for me to develop them. I can only concentrate on my own work, as long as I work hard on MY domains I don't have to worry what the next guy is doing with his.

Good point! That is why I think sometimes these .biz vs .com discussions get a little silly (even though I enjoy them). In the end, each person with a domain will live and die by what they do, and not say. We can talk about all the positives regarding .biz but if you don't work to do something with your own, .biz names, no amount of talk is going to change your financial position.

Well... that was fun... Now I have to go do some work.

I've got a "shell" up for www.Cigar.ws (not live yet). Hopefully will be done in the near future.
