Sedo went down because it had to many auctions ended at the same time like the premium auction and the .de auction no one could bid in the last 5 mins so what has sedo done about it so far extended the .de auction but not the premium one why do that ?.
Surely they both should be extended fair is fair.
Maybe the answer is their was not a great amount of cash to be made in the premium auction compared to the .de auction.
The .de auction is going through a huge company.
The premium auction is mostly domainers domain names and maybe were not that important to them, well that's what it looks like.

Looks like our SedoCoUk friend has checked out. How convenient.

Yes, I agree that the GreatDomains auction should be extended as well although, I am confident that if it were to be extended, it will have no doubt lost some momentum.

Depends on how well Sedo can communicate the auction extension with the specific domain watchers/bidders.

Yes its a well known fact every one bids in the last 5 mins on lots of names theirs a bidding war on the last 5 mins and sedo knows that and so do lots of domainers. In the last 5 mins a name can easly triple its ending price. Im sure a lot of domainers lost big cash their with out a doubt in total way over xx,xxx who knows but its a fact theirs always a bidding war in the last 5 mins of a sedo premium auction.

I just wanted to clarify that historically, Sedo has been great to me. As a matter of fact, I couldn't be happier with my account manager.

This said, my account manger has been left in the dark and hence, I have been left in the dark as well regarding this issue.

Hopefully, we will hear from Sedo's management team tomorrow.

Lisa, you haven't been helpful at all. This thread is about the Great Domains auction issue that you refuse to address. Why wasn't the Great Domains auction extended as well seeing how it had the exact same end time as the .DE auction?

6 of my premium .com auctions were negatively affected and you refuse to show any empathy or even acknowledge what this thread was started for.

Get this guys...

My Heated.com Great Domains auction ended at only $1,500.

Bidding capabilities were out the last 5 minutes of the Great Domains auction. Lisa confirmed this in her other thread when she wrote:

"Due to a malicious attempt to disrupt our services, Sedo suffered from two different distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks which temporarily caused the Sedo and GreatDomains.com websites to be slow or irresponsive between 17:55 and 20:15 CET on October, 22nd 2009 (11:55 and 2:15 PM EDT)."

Once Sedo's site was up again, I received an offer for $2,750 for Heated.com no doubt from a bidder who couldn't bid the last 5 minutes.

This is the best part... You would think that Sedo would put all transaction processes on hold until management decides what do do however, the Great Domains winning bidder has already sent payment and it is sitting in escrow.

Looks like I may have to Lawyer up.

Hey Jedi,

It's ironic, but that's actually one of the domains I was trying to bid on. I had my bid in, but the page simply would not load.

I regret to inform all of you that my Sedo representative has informed me that after reviewing the October Great Domains auction, they do not feel that it was adversely affected by their site’s meltdown despite the fact that the auction ended at the same time as the .DE auction.

Basically, they are sweeping the October Great Domains auction issue under the rug and calling it a day.

Looks like a pending lawsuit to me :-\

I can vouch that it adversely affected me and my ability to bid on some domains I was interested in.

Check out the latest DNJournal 'Low Down' post:

"As you would expect, a lot of clients have been asking Sedo if the DDOS attacks negatively impacted the results in their GreatDomains auction. Sedo's North American Marketing Team Director Heather Del Carpini told me, "While the site was slow as the auction was closing, our bid logs show the we did not experience downtime until after the close of the GreatDomains auction. We still received bids until the auction closed, and were able to extend the auction time for domains that were still receiving bids in the last five minutes of the auction. Throughout the auction bids were high and consistent, and in the end this GreatDomains auction resulted in higher than average bids and sales volume, easily beating the numbers from our September auction. Close inspection of the bid logs also reveals that the number of bids in the last few minutes of the auction is consistent with our other GreatDomains auction events."

Ms. Del Carpini provided us with some examples of auctions that received bids in the last five minutes and remained open for additional bidding as the system is designed to allow them to do: Delusional.com, Casinos.de and XAI.com."

FYI: I love Ron Jackson so this has nothing to do with him!

****************************************

My Great Domains Auction Results:

Heated.com
Winning Bid: $1,500
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 11:53 AM EST
Bidding History*-*Sedo.co.uk

Galoshes.com
Winning Bid: $5,600
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 05:55 PM CEST (11:55 AM EST)
Bidding History*-*Sedo.com

Argument.com
Winning Bid: $5,301
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 11:52 AM EST
Bidding History*-*Sedo.com

SoftMusic.com
Winning Bid: $2,210
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 05:44 PM CEST (11:54 AM EST)
Bidding History*-*Sedo.co.uk

Additionally, I had three Sedo brokered auctions that took
place at the exact same time (same end time):

Xplosive.com
Winning Bid: $2,050
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 05:56 PM CEST (11:56 AM EST)
Bidding History*-*Sedo.co.uk

SunnyShore.com
Winning Bid: $80
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 05:48 PM CEST (11:48 AM EST)
Bidding History*-*Sedo.co.uk

PureTitanium.com
Winning Bid: $80
Last Bid Placed: Oct/22/09 03:25 PM CEST (9:25 AM EST)
Bidding History*-*Sedo.co.uk

Please show me where any of my auctions received bids after 11:56 AM EST?

Again, my question to Sedo is this. Why wasn't the October Great Domains auction extended due to disrupted services just as the .DE auction was?

Both high profile auctions ended at the exact same time and were negatively affected in the exact same way!!

I would venture to say that these "last minute bids" that are being mentioned by Sedo are proxy bids, if any at all.

Irregardless, they may have to provide proof before a judge should some pursue this.

Plus, Sedo needs to quit referring to their own blunders as a DDOS attack.

According to my knowledge, the only 3 examples Sedo has provided is:

Delusional.com
http://www.sedo.de/auction/auction_...tion_id=63455&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us

Casinos.de
http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction...tion_id=63046&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us

XAI.com
http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction...tion_id=63557&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us

Was is funny is that Casinos.de wasn't even listed in the October GreatDomains auction.

Why is it being used as an example??

Update: Maybe they added it at the last minute however, I honestly don't remember seeing it in the October GreatDomains list.

It is now 3:49 PM EST (Sedo, North America Time) and I still haven't heard from the North America Director of Sales. She said that she would call this afternoon.

I will keep you all posted if I hear anything.
