What are your feelings on using Sedo, versus Afternic, versus Bido (or all three?) for listings domains? Please also compare to using DNforum and when to do what? Do any of these typcially sell better and in what situations? Are there any tips you can offer such as "listing upgrades" or techniques that may improve chances for a sale or higher sale?

I would advise to go for Sedo: reliable for listing domain names, and there are sales, especially if you price reasonably (and dob't hesitate to set fixed prices, but again reasonable ones!).

Also use DNforum and other such forums for some domain names, especially those you are willing to sell at lower prices. Don't forget that on forums, you find mostly domainers - while on Sedo, you also have endusers. So it cannot be really compared.

so you dont recommend listing on all three (or more) at the same time for greater exposure? Seems like that would make more sense.

Tips for Higher Sale
Research your market for that domain and then approach endusers. Be professional and KNOW the product or service.
If you dont know who would want it and what use it would have. You will not sell it, unless of course its a no brainer type domain.

sedo and afternic are not just domain listing services, but the also have domain parking or ppc

sedo has a higher volume of aftermarket sales than afternic.

as for bido, i never used them so can't comment.

i recommend you at least "list" all your domains with sedo

if you don't have websites or mini-sites on them, then park them to garner some stats.

the more stats you have, the more value can be attached to the domain

i would stay away from any site that charges you an "upfront" fee to list domains or who charges a fee to park domains

as for "listing" upgrades, for the most part it's a waste of cash

especially if the domain is low quality

imo...

If you go for fixed prices for some domain names, as I suggested, anyway you can only post them at one place: when you offer a domain name at a fixed price, your offer is binding, so you cannot offer it at several places at the same time, since you would run the risk of having two people buying it at the same time from different channels!

Similarly, if you start an auction style sale on a forum, you cannot have the name listed at the same time with Sedo or Afternic.

So it depends really of your marketing strategy - and of domain names. Anyway, keep a list of your domains and remember always where they are listed.

I have sold both high and low end domains at both Sedo and Afternic, best to list in both places and keep pricing the same at both.

I agree entirely with the remarks above.
Plus a small additional remark: I have a number of my names listed st Sedo, but parked at Bodis.com, where I get a better revenue for them. Previously, I tended to park and sell my names at the same place, but sometimes splitting can be a good option.
And I can report only positive experiences with Bodis.
Re parking, Sedo is OK, but no high revenue. Afternic is no good option for parking, IMO.
