Since when is "Y" a vowel?

I'm going to join Queen Mother and play my age card....

When I went to school, the letter "W" was also a possible vowel (along with the sometimes "Y" rule). Reading this thread, I worried my memory might be failing me, so I found the explanation/proof of my declaration at the following link. Have at it!

Y is considered a vowel for those who do not own a true CVCV and trying to sell their domain for more than it really is worth.

GYM - a word with 3 consonants?
I don't thinks so

synchronize VOWEL

without the vowel, you wouldn't be able to pronounce it
