^^ Indeed :) SDX, there are even X6M, X5M, Porsche Cayenne's out there that will easily kick your ass, SUV's are not meant to race anyway.

LMAO!!! I just switched from a Porsche Cayenne buddy! ...and I used to have a BMW M5 in High School!
I wouldn't go back to either.
None of the "SUV's" you mention can "easily" beat a stock Jeep SRT8, let alone my "performance enhanced" one! :)
Before you sound ignorant thinking that only Bimmers and Porsches are fast do some research dude.
Its exactly people like you I like to surprise the most.
Whats more these cars may look like SUV's, but none of them are meant for off road.
Sometimes there's nothing like pure American muscle...my favs still being Lambos, though, of course! :)
...
What do you drive anyway?
(I'm typing this from my ride actually ;))

I wouldn't mind one of the Tourareg v8 Diesels. It's a Porshe Cayenne with a VW faceplate.

We have a Tourareg V8 in Florida...better than Cayenne imho. :)

The fit, finish, and interior blew me away. Superb all the way around. The ride was so quiet and so smooth. But, alas...too many other toys and priorities. Besides, can't fit five labrador retrievers in one. So, it was the Yukon XL.

bmw

I won't ever drive a SUV, no matter how good it would be on 0-60.

Like I said, I had a BMW M5 and my Dad had a 750 and an X5 (lots of probs with this one though)...so I really am fond of Bimmers :)
...
Its just the Jeep SRT8 fits my taste better atm I guess...who knows maybe later in life I'll change my mind again ;)
But now, there's nothing like starting up and listening to that 6.1 Liter V8 roar through my performance exhaust! :cheeky:
But I will say not many cars (even the SRT8 ;)) can beat the HANDLING of the BMW.
...
I really don't want to start personal preference arguments...just stating facts :)
...
And to make peace...I love ALL cars! LOL!

I was jumping for joy when I got this vehicle. Yukon Denali XL (extra long), 4wd and every other bell and whistle you can think of. This is one fancy dog ride. Totally fold down the middle seat and there is gobs of room for the dogs to ride on the floor and even a couple in the third seat. GMC builds a quality product and hard to beat when it comes to retaining value. This is perhaps the 6th GMC truck I have owned and have never been dissatisfied.

That's why I drive a BMW :)

See, now that's an educated statement...and I absolutely agree with you. :)
Not just a ridiculous post by someone saying these cars will kick your ass without having a clue about cars! :)
Some people should just stick to domaining ;)

Which Bimmer do you have btw, exxe?

I'm going to pick up a 2010 Mercedes E-class 220 CDI (diesel) in Germany in May. It will replace my (t)rusty 2003 E-Class. I'm really, really looking forward to it! The 220 doesn't have the biggest engine of them all, but the 250 and 350 are waaay too expensive for me. 170 horse-powers is more than enough for me. :)

Awesome vehicle. MB made a big mistake by ceasing sales of the diesel engine here in the states.

VW has an awesome diesel turbocharged engine and now putting that in Audi.

German engineering and reliability is tough to beat.

Why is that really? I don't think I've ever seen a diesel vehicle when I've been to the States. Last time I were there a few months ago, I started noticing diesel pumps though and gas stations with "We have diesel" signs outside. :) It's funny, because diesel driven cars are a majority in Norway. I can understand that many people think diesel cars suck though, as a few years ago they sounded like tractors, but new diesel cars really don't really differ from benzene driven cars any longer (afaik).

Diesel burners here in the states were very noisy and dirty...you could look at a vehicle and tell it was a diesel because of all the soot.

MB stopped shipping models to the US when newer restrictions came out.

VW improved their performance and environment friendliness in a big way. I had a new 2003 VW Beetle TDI (turbo diesel) and it was the best (and one of the fastest) vehicles on the road. It was an automatic and I was getting 44-46 MPG on highway. A co-worker had a Jetta 5 speed and he swore getting 52+ MPG on the highway.

I also had a GMC 2500HD Duramax Diesel. The torque on that thing was incredible. The best part about it, no one knew it was diesel because it was so quiet.

I will consider other diesel vehicles in the new future. I love VW and will now look closer at the AUDI line with the TDI engine.

The only thing missing is a Volvo Diesel...but Volvo makes such a great and reliable product ( at least they did - I am not sure how F'd up they are now with Ford ownership ). We have an S60 R and we love it.

SDX, you were the one making such silly comments as your SUV beats Ferraris, Corvettes, Mclaren SRLs. I don't doubt it's a great car, but let's be realistic ;)

Cool...but don't ever taunt me on the Freeway...perhaps only in the Swiss Alps ;)
...
If there is one thing missing from my SRT, though, is stick shift (like I had in my M5)...it does add a lot of control which any "tiptronic" can't match.
