PayPal Email ID PP007

Looks like a standard email from paypal, but note the domain, its paypal.US my name, i snapped this name a few days ago! I dont know what the hell the previous user has been doing with it, but i get over 100 of these mails PER DAY!

could it be the previous user has been using it to email people OR is there some bug in the paypal system that enters the domain as paypal.us?

It looks pretty real to me because i get ALOT of anonymous hits on paypal.us everyday! + when i checked the referals i seen about 30-40 from hotmail, a few yahoo etc.

just looks abit wierd!

I think it would be safe to assume that the previous owner was up to no good. Maybe you can create a bounce back in your email settings to that whatever address those are coming to a bounced back to the sender.

I just happened to start getting a bunch of emails from spoof ebay addresses were apparently someone hacked into some ebay accounts, listed some fake motorcycle listings, and when I requested more info, they tried to have me use a SQUARE DEAL website for the escrow payment. Turns out the SQUARE DEAL website is thiers and they pocket the money and you get nothing...

Maybe you can set up a autoresponder to address that the site is under new ownership and the people sending you emails won't recieve any more from your address...

why on earth you got PAYPAL.us in the first place?
Felix is right, you should bounce all the emails back.
and maybe place a note on the site: "we do not send emails .If you received a mail from an @paypal.us address, , report the sender'sIP to the authorities.

I dont think that is smart.
disable ANY email.
you are obviously using email forwarding or something to get that.
disable it. let the nameservers show your registrars.
they will bounce naturally.
otherwise, you are digging a deeper hole.
