Email arrived yesterday:

Hi John ,

I work in a french hosting company (******.com) and Mr ****, one of our customer, is the manager of a SINGLEPRO company.

He wants to know if it's possible to purchase the domain name singlepro.com for its web site and the cost of that.

Thanks you for answer,
P***** P****

My Reply : Not for sale to anybody, especially from France. The not so great country of traitors who gave us the Statue of Liberty, only to stab us in the back when we went again to sacrifice our young in the name of liberty. Those who, if not for America sacrificing thousands of lives on the beaches of Normandy, would have been the victims of genocide at the hands of Hitler. Those who support dictators that committ mass murder using chemical weapons, in the name of a business relationship. You take Chirac, and DeVillepuss and let them steer you down the path of obliviaon, that's fine. I am a middle class American, and I tell you, the damage has been done and we will NEVER forget what France has done. We Loved you, and you cheated on us. We saved you, and you stabbed us in the back. America is strong, we can survive without France. We are France times 50. We never wanted you to be our puppet. We only expected France, as a civilized nation, to support what was right from a point of Humanity. But your leaders were afraid of a no good murderer, who started how many wars and killed how many innocent people? You do not know what it is like to save a nations ass and have them betray you like that. We regular Americans resent it more than you know, the majority of us now do not trust France. France is now a pathetic little place in my eyes, a country full of cowards as history shows. Go Hug the Chinese and Russia. We resent you much more than them. And let me tell you, we do care for the Iraqi people, as we did for the French when we liberated you. It's about Freedom, Peace and Security, not selling weapons, business deals, and trying to use the UN as a stage to show the rest of the world how to stand up to America. It backfired badly. A terrible misjudgement buy the French Government. France is no longer a true friend of America and democracy. You choose the side of communists, socialists, and opressors. The very things you were once saved from by a loving and compassionate society, you now wish upon the innocent people of foreign lands. I wish America would give your Statue of Liberty back, we can build our own. We can get our wine from California, our cheese from Wiconson, and our tires from Goodyear. With friends like France, who needs enemies?

I love France a lot - but understand the silly need of others to hate it.

As much as I can appreciate a good French-bashing, I don't think this guy deserved that. You don't even know what his opinions are.

You are doing this for business, right? Not a wise response in my opinion.

The wisest advice I ever got was to NEVER mix politics or religion with business. No matter what position you take, you will lose about half of your customer base. That is counterproductive to say the least.

While I may not agree with the stance the French leaders take, I can not blame their people. I mean would I want the rest of the world to think that I thought the same way as Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter? I think not. Your response to this person just shows that you don't think very much. Sorry.

Thank you for your comments. Then again it is my name, my decisoin, and my opinion. I am entitled to mine , and you are entitled to yours. Thank God we can express ourselves openly without getting killed for it. Did he deserve it? Probably not. It may mean that I think too much, vs not enough. I am boycotting France for the rest of my life, my decision of course. Some would say let bygones be bygones, but dead soldiers erase that notion for me, weather they be from this generation or 50 years past. I do respect your opinions, and can agree that I may have been harsh. That is why I posted this. To find out if maybe I am to hard headed about this, what the consensus is etc... And its obvious now, coming from fellow Americans, that it was harsh indeed. Mission accomplished in that respect. However, this guy may not have supported his governments decisons. SO I have to eat crow in that aspect. While I would neve sell this domain to them, should I at least apologize (is that spelled right?) for jumping to conclusions, at a personal level? Your wisdom is appreciated.

It's just useless.

One day they'll realize thinkin with stereotypes will lead to their own death.
