Regged PopRock.mobi late yesterday evening - music and music videos around the clock :). There's a .eu "poprock" site, so I'm feeling pretty good about that. I used to have a .us page up, but now the .us is parked with GK.

I think 'pop rock' is a good reg, easy potential for a music site.

when I read through here it always makes me want to reg another mobi

ok, I did reg a few more:

sasquatch (for fun, has about 20k overture too)
parolesdechansons (means song lyrics in french, has 100k French overture and 'songlyrics' is a premium .mobi)
blackmetal (music genre with 70k overture)

now I really have to figure out how to build some mobile sites with my sitebuilder program...

Ummm, not yet. Can you fit that device in your back pocket!? Boy, you got a big butt! And its not a phone!!!

We may have to wait a while. The only current technology that is out there is from Japan and is called "full browser".
It has been proven by content providers, users, and developers as a big waste of money. When customers purchase new mobile phones (keitai 携帯), the salesmen/women note that the phone has full-browser-capabilities and extra fees will apply. This is for all the carriers in Japan (Softbank/Vodafone, DoCoMo, and AU).
Still, users demand the companies who provide pc sites to develop mobile websites. Thus, the demands for mobile developers are on the rise in Asia.

Umm yeah I think it would fit in my pocket
It is 4.9 inches long, 3.4 inches wide, 0.9 inches thin
I would have to convert that to metric first though and check the size of my butt again
Anyway, they won't sell me one because I live down under
Good luck with your .mobis , although I am astounded , since you live in Japan, that you don't have idn.coms in your sig.

Guys, there's still gold in them there hills...

Only today I got:

  • debtsolutions.mobi (1.8m OVT on 'debt solution')
  • courtorder.mobi (.com is owned by R. Schwartz)
  • debtproblem.mobi (low OVT but good type-in I feel)

I'm not just reg'ing anything that's available. I tend to focus on a certain market for around 30 minutes. Using techniques such as mind-mapping to 'uncover' words that may have been missed. Factors I'm considering are:

a) Is it something more aligned to PC-based reference? i.e can it wait till I'm home?
b) Is it something people would rather do when they're away from people on a device only being used by them. PC's in the home/office are often shared and even people living in the same house may not feel 'safe' surfing certain topics on a shared device.
c) Does it rate high on PPC and have good type-in potential?
d) Does it have value as generic industry phrase and therefore end-user value?
e) OVT rating? This is a tricky one as we can't base all our decisions on the 'here and now' which is obviously what OVT is. These .mobi domains won't be surfed for a while yet... I registered 'servicepacks.mobi' + 'phoneupgrade.mobi' earlier on the basis that 'service packing' may become commonplace in the future as it is for PC's today...
f) Will it benefit from location-sensitivity? Most find/search domains will benefit from GPS integration...

There are other aspects I consider but I thought those may help you guys in your 'harvesting'... invest wisely to protect your capital...
