To the Management of GoDaddy,

We, the undersigned, respectfully urge you to reconsider the decision to shut down DAN.COM. This platform has been invaluable to countless domain investors and entrepreneurs, providing a streamlined and efficient way to buy and sell domains. The community that has developed around DAN.COM is a testament to its success and the trust it has earned.

The potential consequences of this move echo the unfortunate fate of Uniregistry.com, which faced significant backlash when it was shut down. Many users were left searching for alternatives, and the transition proved disruptive. We fear that a similar outcome could occur with DAN.COM, negatively impacting the livelihoods of those who rely on this platform.

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, it is crucial to maintain options for domain transactions. Shuttering DAN.COM would limit choices and stifle innovation, ultimately harming your customer base.

We believe there is an opportunity to enhance and expand DAN.COM rather than close it down. Please consider the broader implications of this decision and the value that DAN.COM brings to the community.

We implore you to keep DAN.COM operational and preserve a vital resource for domain investors everywhere.

Sincerely,

Undeveloped.com user

Hi

i still get offers/sales via incoming email inquiries.
so it doesn't really affect me, and prolly a lot of others who aren't dependent on a single platform.

imo...

Hi @topcatchy, I can feel and understand your frustration over GoDaddy's potential closure of Dan.com, it's important to remember that publicly-traded companies make decisions based on financial and strategic factors.

In cases like these, petitions, while well-intentioned, might not directly influence these decisions.

If Dan.com closes, explore and support other domain trading platforms, including GoDaddy's one - Afternic.

.. there are so many ways to spend our time.. probably watching Netflix is a better one :) Or, another caricature here at DNF? :) love them!!

I will add, with great pleasure, all the great friends I have made at DAN. They have been extremely helpful, thoughtful, and efficient.

Shout out to Mauli Fry, what a wonderful person and lovely human being!!!!! She's a "keeper"...I'd hire her in a New York Second, a heartbeat, and offer her the position of "Director of Customer Service" if I were still in that space!!!!!
🙏🙏😍

For me, price!

My company HostMaria offers $24.50/year - shared Cloud (UK based) - it will have all the features you need. :) Could give you a 50% 1st year discount.

We liked DAN, because there was some democracy to ownership.

And, we could know who's who.

Call it information democracy....,

Godaddy/AfterNic now owns the data! In the entireity, and makes everything discreet...,

And, we will never know who we are dealing with.

Who knows, the very domain you may want, would be owned by your neighbour ; )

Not only that it automated domain ownership via nameservers and TXT records...

Adding the unique verf. nameserver as the "3rd NS" complemented verification "publicly".

And, one could check this with the block-chain...,

Now, its Godaddy *OWNED* data...,

"..The best was Uniregistry. RIP. They were purchased by dinosaur GoDaddy and dismantled."

A circle of life :) People used Dan.com to make money, then owners sold it and (probably) also made money.

GoDaddy maintains the market leader positions. Nothing really to waste energy complaining about :)

Also, according to a regulatory filing, GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) paid $71.4 million to acquire Dan.com - knowing them as very conservative company that is acting strategically towards the profits, we have to give them respect.

Business as usual. :)
