Despite only two sales, demand is still strong in this namespace. Here are all bids for .mobi at the nyc moniker live auction:

$120,000 Scores.mobi (pass)
$65,000 Sale.mobi (pass)
$45,000 Pay.mobi (pass)
$30,000 Vacations.mobi (pass)
$30,000 Phones.mobi (pass)
$25,000 Mortgages.mobi (sold)
$21,000 Text.mobi (pass)
$14,500 Europe.mobi (pass)
$10,000 555.mobi (pass)
$4,750 Laptops.mobi (sold)
$4,000 300.mobi (pass)

$369,250 total bids for .mobi <--not too bad for only 11 names

I guess the glass will always be partially full until it is completely empty.

Lack of sales is lack of sales. By putting their reserves too high, those sellers devalued the whole extension (and thus their other .mobi properties). Their unrealistic reserves measured in mismatches of thousands of dollars, probably cost the extension hundreds of thousands in future lost sales. I like .mobi, but today was a meltdown.

You never know, you might see some of these names sell for double in the next year. The people who own the names are just taking a calculated risk - they might not even need the money that badly. .com Domains that sold two years ago sometimes look like they went cheap - but since it's .mobi it's more risky to hold onto names when you are offered xx,xxx to xxx,xxx now. time will tell

I would sell for that much, but maybe they are thinking the temperature is not high yet.
- Time will tell.

(I'm hoping they are right)

Time told a few hours ago.

Why are mobi still holding names like hotels.mobi and still holding tm names for ransom?

premature statement

We have to wait 5 years, at least 5y.

(if this is .eu - yes, maybe is tasting some minerals, but .mobi is not a usual tld - let's give it some time)

They say the pass prices were not necessarily bids. Scores.mobi is rumored to have received no bids at all.

I hope so. I wish they would release the premium names.
