how will it work when each key on the phone has 2 meanings a letter or 3 letters and a number, when regging numbers and letters that mean the same thing or is there a number lock on keyboard, I dontt own a cell, but if number lock is the answer i would expect a lot of traffic for the latter

ok thanks, and how about each key representing 3 letters does that mean whoever regs cat.mobi gets bat.mobi aat.mobi etc being each key has 3 letters, if thats the case wont there be a lot of overflow traffic

Fatter,

Qwerty phones eliminate the aforementioned problem.

QWERTY phones shrink a computer keyboard and place them onto the phone (letter and numbers all segregated and easy to use)

I think that's the way it will continue to evolve, with mobile devices having the entire keyboard. Once there is enough mobile content the full keyboard will have to be there.

Who is going to want to carry around a full keyboard...only the small % age that are currently using PDAs. The people that will use the mobile internet as the price falls for surfing are the youth of today, and as you will see from their use of sms, they have no trouble entering text using a 0-9 keyboard.

Also putting a full querty on handsets is not compatible with our desire to continue having smaller handsets.

Hi,
I totally agree with that. Grandmas & grandads text with no problems. Kids send lightning speed messages from a standard phone pad. They can do it without looking, like a secretary on an 'old fashioned keyboard'.
For me if phones come out with a 'mobi button' instead of a surf button or picture of world or whatever & it automatically puts in .mobi as ending, but gives a n option for tld, this will seal it. I never meant to get any. The whole thing has really grown on me. I've got a dozen. Will maybe pick up a few more at general reg time. Represents a fraction of my portfolio & may well wish i had got more. It will not be overnight. It may take 2 or 3 years to get going. .eu will be the same. The .eu reg. programme was an absolute disgrace. It was so badly thought out. Eurid are hilarious.
This .mobi venture seems so much better. The potential is there & I see it as unique & different from anything before.

it has become a trendy thing to have. they will make these pda phones more affordable and everyone will want one. with these phones, it will eliminate the need to carry a phone, mp3 player, dvd player, camera, etc... All of these features are built into the new pda phones.

I just bought the new Treo 700wx and it does all of the above. I have been using phones like this for about 5 years now and dont know what i would do without one!

I have just aquired 2 memorable NNNN.mobi in open registrations. Judging by the price of NNN.mobi already I think NNNN.mobi's must be one of the best opportunity's for domainers to fresh reg right now...

I have been without one for about 55 years now and don't know what I'd do with one.

Heck, all us old folks will die off soon, so you don't have to worry about our market share. Of course keep in mind, we own all the companies and have all the money. :thumb:

Did someone say sedo's parking pages are already compatible with .mobi? Couldn't remember, thought someone said just the 'lite' page at moment. Is this right or have there been further developments? Cheers, Pred
