I'm pleased to announce that I have succeded in bringing the Domain Registry of Europe down a few notches!!
I received a letter from the ASA today (Advertising Standards Authority). For those of you outside the UK, they are an 'Independent' Government authority who have the power to command/prosecute/close down etc. advertisers.
A copy of the letter can be found at:
Letter
However, I'm not stopping here.
I will be consulting with the Trading Standards office again, as they should be able to take action against the DROE on their own.
For one thing, on the count of gross misuse of personal data (ie: raking the WHOIS databases of addresses) etc.
Hopefully, my and a few other domain-guru's efforts have stopped a greedy, dodgy company ripping off a lot of innocent, gullible domain owners out of many thousands of pounds!
