I suggest the closure all threads posted in the "Geo Domains For Sale" section that are not Geo domains.

too much crap is being posted there, just for the sake of starting more threads.

if a domain is NOT a specific Geographical location, city, county, country, province, region, state, body of water, etc, then is should not be posted in Geo section.

examples of names like "columbia5.tld" "nybooks.tld" "digitaliran.tld"
"hkcab.tld" "miamilaptops.tld" "45thstreet.tld" are NOT Geo domains.

Why stop there?

Are names of valleys, mountains and "seas" on the Moon and other planets and satellites "geo" domains?

Doc; to me, Downing Street, Picadilly Circus and Abbey Road are definitely not real 'Geo' domains. I think the easiest way to make a rule about these domains is to check whether they appear on Google Geo at a certain scale; maybe as I suggested, 100:1.

They are fascinating place names and localities, but of no strict geographical significance in this context. IMHO.
We may be trying to define something that may not need defining.

We're not space walking here Theo. Trying to come to a reasoned yardstick for the 'Geo' category. In essence, I think the answer to your question is "yes". However it would be a brave investor to go 'lunar' in this context. Maybe 'looney'.

And why stop there? I'm sure most foreign members here can list street names most of us cant even pronounce.

And what a people names that are named streets, towns and cities? Like "Magsaysay" Do we really want to degrade the geo section with names like ramonmagsaysayblvd ?

Exactly. Is New Amsterdam not a valid geo name, as the former name of New York? Or mythical places that might have existed, such as Atlantis?

Maybe 'looney'.

To boldly go where no domainer has gone before! :D

I think buyers can decide for themselves what type and variation of GEO domains they want to buy.

Poem of the Ancyent Domaynere

Every so often
I ponder
On ancient remains
Lands long forgotten
I wonder
Are they geodomains?

Theo, you are always eth(eo)ereal. Atlantis, the moon, what planet do you want to comment seriously on? You know we love you, but lose the cheesy little green grin :D Have a look at your prior 100 posts and see how many times it features :D

Badabing, badaboom. (Is that how it is spelled?)

Anyways, I agree. I am sure there are kazillions of geos out there we are unaware simply because, well...we are unaware of them.

As mentioned, this is an international forum. I have no idea what all the hot spots are in India and Thailand. I know Thailand area along the coast have become a haven for the celebrities.

If I post BahaiHonda.tld for sale, do I have to go through an approval process?

The biggest issue I have is - Who decides and why does someone have to decide.

One of 2008's top rated beaches.

No. A Geo domain is now classified by me (LOL) as a single word that identifies a place name from the Google satellite at 100:1.

You must be a naughty boy then, lol.... I rarely traveled north of Manila so you probably know more about the area than I do, I'm from Calapan in Oriental Mindoro, If you've been to Puerto Galera, you must know of it.
