I thought of a way to help everyone manage the end of $1 auctions that does not take any programming on dnf.
We could have a shared calender. Google Calender is really nice and easy to use. If there was one Google Calender for the $1 auctions, or better for any auctions at dnforum, then any person starting an auction could just manually put an entry into this shared calendar.
Anyone interested in auctions could then receive notices of auctions nearing an end. I bid on auctions and then forget to check when they are ending. So this would be handy. The listing could have 2 calender entries, one being something like 'auction ends tomorrow!' and one maybe an hour before the end.
if the auctions coudl be automatically put into the calendar, by software, so much the better.
