The $1 auctions are interesting and I think people enjoy them.

Sometimes the $1 auctions go for days and you can forget about them, so you miss the end time. So I had two thoughts.

First, is there any way to get a notification when there is 1 or 2 hours left? Right now I put something in my google calender, if I remember to do so. It would be nice if it was automated for all $1 auctions.

Secondly, what about Proxy bidding? Informal and easy, if it is allowed. You would bid in the thread and then write to the seller, and indicate your maximum you can go if someone outbids you. The seller would have to post, so there is an honesty issue, but then you dont have to check back in if you are busy, the seller gets a better price, and you might get the domain you want. Would this be ok?

I don't think telling the seller how high you would go, however, if it was a DnForum auction, there is no doubt they could program it in to bid for you each time someone tries to outbid you. But in a forum post there is no real way.

If they wanted to create a custom software to use for their auctions, this could be done.
