Ok,

so i have a premium name in NW that is only left there because i forgot to delete it from my watch/purchase list as at the time when it was expected to expire actually had been renewed and now has an expiry date of 2007.
The time of renewal is like at least 6 months ago so that's how long it has been in my NW list, me being the "high bidder" as of course noone bid on that name since renewal.
Now, when checking my NW account today i saw someone outbid me on that name *today* although whois still shows ACTIVE and 2007 expiry date and no NS change.

So, as it's a premium name as said i'm suspicious if that's a bid done by someone at NW because they maybe just saw the name in my account but didn't check whois to kinda shill bid to make me bid more?

I mean, who in the world would bid on that name *now* when there is no sign whatsoever that it's gonna drop before 2007?

Only reason i'm suspicious that it's NW themselves doing a bit of shill bidding is i've experienced strange bids in NW a lot recently - mainly with names i first was the only bidder on and suddenly the bids increased to ridiculous heights.

Really, although they got quite some names in the past for me, i don't trust them/their system a 100% anymore.

I'm absolutely sure *something* fishy is going on there.

I certainly don't have any proof of this, but I think these practices
are quite common amongst auction based drop services. I guess
that is one weakness of the system (to the end user).

I've noticed the same thing.
